I am getting married in january we are staying at the lindo but having the reception at the del mar. I recieved an email from martha who said she was taking over for karla. Is it ivan or martha.....I am starting to become worried. I am also worried about all the previous emails i had sent to karla. I hope the iberostar will stand by all the things karla and i had previously discussed.

Hannah your pictures are absolutly beautiful!! Thanks for sharing them!

Is the lobby in the lindo ok for meeting guests every night at 8? What is the lobby bar of the lindo called?

Do they prvoide private transportation to the ceremony for the wedding party on the  wedding day? Also regarding the ceremony in spanish. Is this only for cival ceremonies?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks Courtney

I wouldnt worry about them not standing by the things you discussed with karla...they will do what they need to in order to make your day perfect...

the lindo lobby bar doesnt really have a name...it is just the lobby bar....inside the bar there is a floor to ceiling fish tank, but the bar stunk like stale alcohol ...we would go in there to get our drinks, but there is a little area outside of the lobby bar with tables and chairs (it is on the little bridge that leads to the photo shop (you will totally understand when you get there)..but anyways, THAT is where all my guests ended up meeting every night...It is RIGHT outside the actual lobby bar, and it has the same tables and chairs as the lobby bar - if you are all staying at the Lindo, then I would say you can tell everyone to meet in the lobby every night at 8...I will show you a picture ;)

This is what you will see when you pull up to the Lindo....the arch on the left has 2 glass doors that leads into the reception area for check in and check out...and the arch on the right has 2 glass doors that lead in to the lobby bar....if you tell everyone to meet in the "lobby" this is where you will meet and you will definately find each other ;)  In the back of the picture (where there are 2 people) to the left is the area where there are tables and chairs that I was talking about....I have tons of pics, but it will all come together when you get there - I Promise...but yes, the lobby or lobby bar is the best place to meet...

I hope that helps - I know it is hard to try and vision the way everything is going to turn out - but it will be wonderful ;)  (and I hope my gazillion pictures help...can you tell I am a very "visual" person..lol)

I got an email from Martha yesterday explaining that due to personal reasons Karla is no longer working with Iberostar. She reassured me that the reason for her delay in response was that she was catching up with all of the emails. She also told me that she is there for whenever I have a question she will be glad to help! That eased my anxiety a little to hear from her and I now have communication with someone about my wedding :)

Less than two months to go!!!!!

I am having a tough time deciding on my rehearsal dinner. The problem is we have a large wedding party. With parents, siblings, and wedding party including  their dates we have 24people. The Japanese restaurant only has tables of 18. I have heard great reviews of this restaurant and would really like this place but is it awkward having parents at a separate table?

Could someone who has all ready gone to Mexico please help me. Do i go with the Japanese with one table of 18 one of 6? or should i chose a different restaurant where we can all site together. ?

Thanks Courtney

We had 25 people at the Japanese.  We had an adult table and a "kid" table but they were right next to each other.  Like we could still talk to each other and take pics.  It was really fun!  We totally took the restaurant over and did sake bombs all night.  I wouldn't have done it at any other place.  There should be pics from this night on my FB.

Hope this helps :)

I did a group dinner at the seafood restaurant with 28 people and they still put up as two long tables...and the problem with the long tables is that you cant talk to anyone besides who is sitting next to you anyways...lol

I would DEFINATELY do the japanese and do 2 tables!!  I wish I would have done my group dinner there - BUT, just as an FYI - I did NOT have to pay per person for my group dinner....I waited until I got down there, I asked the WC about it and she said I would have to pay the 20 pp for a group over 20...THEN, I checked with concierge and they made the reservation under each guests room numbers and sat us all together!  so it was FREE!! I did 2 reservations the same nights - 28 people at the Itailian Restaurant (I sent all the adults) and then I did 28 more at the seafood restaurant and they both worked perfectly!!

Hello ladies I would just like to say how frustrated I am with the iberostar. Apparently they are charging 500 + 50 for external dj. This is ridiculous!!! They only use to charge this for photogrAphy?? What the heck?? What to do now. So it will be 1350 for a cheep external dj for 4 hrs! That's ridiculous!!! And the internal dj only will play an I pod list he prob does not speak English and does not talk during the reception. Errrrr!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
