Hey one of BM just had a brilliant idea.  I guess there is a Walmart in Cancun.  I am totally going shopping when I get there for table decorations and gifts.  PERFECT!!!  Wonder if they do "site-to-store" there.

Geez I didnt even think about decorating for the reception too. I am planning on buying maracas down there for favors (i think i read somewhere that the walmart has them too) so I think I'll have them on the table. I'm assuming (hoping) the place will be pretty enough that it will look ok without much decoration.

There is also a Costco in Cancun... so you never know what you might find. Plus all the markets too.

Good to hear.  That will help so much.  A lot less stuff to transport down there.  I'll just give the centerpieces and other stuff away as gifts if I dont want to lug them home.  =)    I love this board....so much helpful info on here.

I am getting married at ASP and am using the complimentary package...It is cheaper for us to choose the things we want than to pay $2000 for some things we don't want and a few decorations (ONLY for the ceremony!?!)  We are bringing our own sashes for the chairs and am making the girls' bouquets with silk flowers.  We will be taking our decor and gifts down in a few carry ons of our own and my family/friends!

This is my exact plan as well.  I figured I'd end up spending less and getting more of what I want.  What do you plan to do about table linens?  Are you bringing those or renting them?
