I'm doing the free package at Aventura Spa Palace. I think I will bring some chair bows too and I'm not sure what to do about flowers. Does the included bouquet look super plain does anyone know? I like lillies but I'm not sure how I feel about just plain white lillies with nothing else. But I dont want to spend a ton on flowers either...

I have the free package also. I purchased chair sashes to take with me from efavormart.com. I also made bouquets for my bridal party and flowers for immediate family using silk and real touch flowers from saveoncrafts.com and afloral.com. I couldn't imagine spending all of that money on flowers...and not being able to bring them back home. The chair sashes will also be used for my AHR.

I am so glad I ran across this thread.  I have decided on Palace Resorts for my wedding and honeymoon.  I am sold on doing the wedding at ASP or ACP (since we might have guests with children there).  I wasn't sure if the wedding collections meant you had to pick those colors or if you had the option to change them.  I was planning on using the diamond collection and adding in my own turquise color here and there.  Have any of you looked at the photos under optional services?  The first three photos are a of a turquoise colored table.  That is the exact color I want.  So I am confused as to how the packages work.

Now that a majority of you are stating you are choosing the complimentary package I am really considering doing the same.  There are some things I dont care too much about having but some do seem important but it looks like I could add those in if necessary.  Does anyone know what the tables look like or how they are/aren't decorated for the dinner reception if using the complimentary package?

Wow this really got me thinking and now I might be totally on board with you all.  It would definitley save some money that could be put towards a photographer, TTD, longer stay, more goodies in the OOT bags, etc.

I am doing the purple package. I am familiar with the optional photo album. A lot of stuff looks really great in their but you have to pay extra for it.  They don't decorate anything for the reception.  Its one thing that annoyed me a little but oh well. They don't negotiate about it. I reserved 5 Eggplant Purple Tables cloths for the reception and am bring white real touch calla Lilly's for the tables. I am doing round tables instead of square.

Wow are you serious?  I can't believe that.  I thought they would decorate them with the color theme you picked.  So I assume no table decorations as well unless you pay for them.  Looks like I'll be bringing lots of stuff with me then.  What are you choosing for centerpieces?

I think I'm just going to appreciate the simplicity of no decor. It will be tough to stay within luggage restrictions once you include the dress, never mind all the extra stuff. I might try bringing chair bows that can be used at the ceremony and reception, but not much more than that.

I think I've already resigned myself to the fact that I will be paying extra for another piece of luggage to haul all my bridal loot. There is NO WAY I can get all my clothes and stuff for almost 2wks in a suitcase AND fit all my bridal stuff too. I guess that is cheaper than it would be to pay for the items @ the resort.

I plan on having an extra suitcase full of gifts and decorations and I'll probably send it with my MOH or another BM.  They don' t need to bring as much stuff as me....a bathing suit and an outfit for the wedding is all they need LOL!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
