What's in your bouquet?

Recommended Posts

Never wait until 2 months before your wedding to start working with your florist; even if it's recommended... Now that I'm a month out I received a quote for a $2000 definitely not what I'm looking to spend. I reminded her that my budget is about half that, so she keeps pushing "red ginger and orange tropicals." after a google search I'm not too big a fan of the gingers (although I don't know what they'd look like in a bouquet) and I'm still not sure what she's referring to as tropicals. On top of this are colors are orange, yet she keeps pushing red and purple...

Anyway, what I'd really like to know is what type of flowers are you using and any pictures would be great? Any links or info to indigenous JA flowers would be great so I can chop this bill!

Thanks!

look into taking flowers with you.  I did clay flowers for my bouquet.

Here's some example.

This vender is back up until September but you might be able to find another one on Etsy or searching the web.  I've heard of other brides doing real touch flowers too.

They look so real- I had someone try to smell mine.  And they are a fraction of the cost.  Mine was only $150 I think... or $165. I bought it a couple months ago and all the prices run together after a while.   But I really like that you can keep them forever then.  Mine is the center piece on our dining room table.

Good luck!

Have you considered fake flowers?  I'm going through wedideas.com and they have a pretty good ready-to-order section.  I think there's a rush order charge but you might still be able to get an order in.  Even with the rush charge, you won't have to pay anywhere near $2k.  Probably more like a couple hundred dollars.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
