I bought his ring about 1 month ago. Our wedding is 6 months away. It took about 4-6 weeks for the Jewlers to get the right size sent to them. So just plan ahead for that.

The ring I want is a designer ring and goes for 2,100. He knows which ring it is ,but I believe is trying to pay off some bills before buying it. I think I put him in the hole with the engagement ring. I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt get it untill January...We are getting married in February.

I feel a little bad for asking for such an expensive ring after getting my engagement ring...But I absoltuly love this ring. I feel in love with it about a year ago, the first time I saw it. Its been at the Jewlers for a few years, so hopefully it stays there a few more months =)

Don't feel bad, wiht my setting theo nly ring that can fit in with it for my wedding band is 1800, so I'm in the same boat as you.  And I feel bad but then there is a part of me thats like well I'm wearing it for the rest of my life so I  better like it.

my FI wants to get a titanium ring, so I have to find out where to get that from. Thats a good tip though about the month for the sizing, I hope to get him off his ass right away to look!

My husband got his own ring and insisted to pay for my wedding band (neither were very expensive).  My ring had to be custom made since my engagement ring is unusually shaped but it came out to only $450 or so.  He ordered his ring online (plain white gold band) and it was about $200 or so.  If he was getting me a super expensive ring, I would have insisted on paying for his ring just to even it out a little.  But every couple's finances are different so do whatever works for you guys!

Ha we don't really have a budget.  I know its one of the first things you're supposed to do, but we know what we like and if its cheap, if its expensive, whatever we don't have a choice.  The only budget we had was for the wedding package / resort package, and thats the biggest.  Beyond that, nothing.

Thats what we are doing too. We know much much money we have to spend, from tax returns/1st time home buyers credit and such but if something doesnt fit into that, then we are just going to use regular paychecks and creditcards.

If i really want something, or if he does, we are going to get it because its our wedding however...for the most part we are very practical people....Tho I really dont think i'll ever hear the end of it for booking our expensive photographer. It was a must for me, but my engineer brained FI doesnt really get it / appreicate it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
