Having a very hard time picking a resort. Help please

We want to get married in Cuba. We L-O-V-E Cuba! It's beautiful and the people are amazing. But in the sea of threads, I am feeling totally lost and getting very discouraged.

I am looking for a resort that is kid friendly and that will not break the bank.

If you know of a good resort, please let me know.

Thank you,

When I was looking, Melia Varadero always came up as not having kids club but I have since heard that they are really kid friendly, and use the kids club at a neighboring resort.  The wedding will be our first time in Cuba, so unfortunately I don't know personally.  I think for the most part it's hard to go wrong.

Good luck in the decision process :-)

We are getting married at Sirenis La Salina in Varadero. We are going with about 9 kids aged from infant to 14. We picked this place for a few reasons but the main one was that it did NOT break the bank!!! It depends on when you are planning to get married and the prices vary from there. Good luck!

Thank you for the many great suggestions.

AlexsBride, I was looking at the Sirenis La Salina but for some unknown reason, this hotel no longer shows up on Sunwing. Where did you book it?

krishna69z when is your wedding? I would love to get your review of things.

TA Becky, I will check them both. It's just hard picking when you've never gone to the location.

We are in the same boat right now.  We just dont know which would be the best spot for us.  We also have to think about our friends budgets. If they were not a factor, we would go all out! Although I want this to be the most memorial day of our life, we want out friends there so we also have to work with them.  We looked at Jamaica, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, St. Lucia, and many more places and have not decided on something yet.

jesscampbell410  I feel the exact same way. I saw this beautiful place called Dreams La Romana in The DR but it's at the top end of the budget.. 1500$ / person. I would like to keep it low so more people can come but you always get what you pay for, right?

Then there is the weather factor.. Early Feb can be tricky for Cuba but I don't mind if it's warm during the day and cooler at night. The best bang for your buck is Cuba, no doubt about that.. but it's so dreamy to look at Turks and Caicos and places like that.

I read so many reviews on Trip Advisor and it's not making me feel super optimistic. I was looking at the Iberostar Tainos in Cuba (Rated 3rd by TripAdvisor) but the reviews hit and miss. No clue how it got 3rd place to begin with.

Let me know if you find a jem  :)

vero007- I know your feeling.  We really want our friends and family there, but this is our wedding. My best friend got married and I saw her so upset because some of her closest friends disappointed her and didnt come.  After seeing her go through all that, I see that some people will disappoint you and some will surprise you in who will come.  I know that I need to remember that it is my wedding and MY special day, not anyone else.  Not to be selfish or anything.  I want everyone to come that can, but if they cant, they cant.

As for the weather, its a daily thing.  If the weather is bad, its bad.  I guess you just have to cross your fingers about the weather.

Turks and Caicos looks gorgeous!

I have looked at Trip Advisors before too and I guess its a personal experience that makes the person write the review.  I see great reviews on trips and then I see people who absolutely hate it.  I guess that also depends also.

I'll be sure to let you know :) same with you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
