I just returned from my wedding/honeymoon in Key West and LOVED every second of it! Her are the people and places I used and/or recommend.

WC- I orginally was going to use EZ weddings in Paradise, but they referred me to someone else when I said I wouldn't need the photographer. I Ended up using Cathy at The HIp Tourist and she was AMAZING!! I could not have been happier! She does more than just wedding and will arrange anything your guests might want or need. Some of my guests wanted to do a snorkel trip and she set it all up for them.

Photographer- Nora Bohanon. She isn't from Key West but I won her free photo contest on here. she was great!!

Dinner- We went to Louie's Backyard for dinner and everyone RAVED about the food and service. They were wonderful and the food was some of the best I have ever had. If you are staying on the other end of the island I recommend either the Commodore or A&B Lobster House .Both are very good .For a more laid back feeling The Conch Republic is a good one too.

Hotel- We stayed at the Southernmost on the Beach. Several of my guests stayed here too and every loved it. The location is great and the hotel is beautiful. 3 pools, bar, restauarant, beach etc.

I hope that helps! Good luck planning. Let me know if you need anything else :-)

The beaches are decent. They aren't the pristine white sand beaches you would find in Mexico or the Carribean, but they are nice. They are clean and water is beautiful. There was a lot of seaweed when we were there, but that was from the recent storms they had. I liked Smather's beach the best for a couple of reasons 1. it was FREE and 2. it was a lot less crowded than the beach at the state park. Depending on the hotel you choose, they may have a private beach for weddings.

I am also thinking about a small wedding in Key West. We are taking a cruise with stops in Key West and Cozumel. I had my heart set on Cozumel but it will be easier to actually get married legally in Key West. I looked into Weddings To Go, their prices were okay. I am also looking into having a lunch reception at the http://www.rooftopcafekeywest.com/. The lunch prices were great. I would like to offer lunch, drinks, and cake right after are mid morning vows.

  • 5 weeks later...

I got married in Key West on Smathers Beach two weeks ago today. We just had 6 people including myself and now Husband. We used Southernmost Bride for the ceremony, photography and flowers! They were great! We then had lunch at Margaritaville. Since I wanted a morning ceremony we then went on a sunset dinner cruise with Dream Chaser Charters. We had the whole boat to ourselves and then they served us a gourmet dinner of lobster, steak ect.... The boat only holds six and it was perfect. Since we were a small group we decided to get a 3 bedroom cottage at Parrot Key Resort. I absolutely love this hotel. It is beautiiful and quiet as you are about 1 mile away from Duval Street. We did have a couple of meals at Conch Republic during our stay and the food was great! There are so many choices in Key West it can be mind bogling! Good Luck! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
