Getting married at Gannon's

Hi everyone!

I am getting married at Gannon's this October and have really appreciated all the great information I've gotten off this forum.  I just started booking things last month and feel like I have a long way to go still.  I'm wondering about the timing of everything.  If the ceremony is sometime between 4 and 4:30, and then we do couple photos on the beach (5 min drive away) what are the guests doing during this time?  The reception is at Gannon's but they don't start bar service until 5:30.  An hour seems like a long time for guests to wait.

I agree, Sydney.  Looks like I might have to move my ceremony time a little later though.  With the sun setting around 6pm I really wanted to leave ample time to go down to the beach for photos.

Hi ajpinak - I am getting married at Gannons too! in June 2011.  How many guests are you having? If there are good number of people, I think half an hour is okay.  Who is your photographer? I need to book one...  I appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Zizibe and congratulations!  I am having about 20 guests.  My photographer is Kimberlee Aihara and while she is not the cheapest maui photographer, I think her quality of work is well worth it.  Plus, her package includes a second photographer shooting with her and the rights to all the images.  She has a great eye and has been very helpful so far.

You will love Gannon's. I got married there on 10.01.10 at the look out point.  My wedding started at 5pm.  You'll be OK.  You wont probably get to the beach until about 515or 530.  After the ceremony your going to be taking pictures with your guest and family there on site and that takes time.  So by the time your done with that the guest will not have a long wait.  I had 16 guest we didn't get to the beach until 545 with all the pictures we took with family and friend. What part of Gannon is your wedding at?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
