I am getting married at the Bahamas Riu 11/6/10.  We were at the Resort December 09 and we loved the vacation there SO MUCH we decided to go back and tie the knot.  The resort is beautiful.  Not too large where you can get lost but big enough that you are not on top of each other.  The space is beautiful and meticulous.  Please let me know if you have any questions that I may be able to answer and I will be sure to post a review after my wedding.

Hi BrideNOV10! Thank you soo much for all of the information. I do have a couple of questions. How are the rooms, food, service? Are there lots of different activities to do? I'm a little nervous and hope my guests love the hotel and have a blast! I can't wait to read the review for your wedding! I'm so excited for my wedding; so I can imagine how excited you are for yours. It's getting really close! I'm so excited for you!! :)

Yay!! Someone to share my planing with!! Lol How's everything going so far? I'm going to start my message in a bottle invitations soon. I am soo excited! I want to find the best photographer, because the pictures gotta come out perfect! I also think it's best to use the wedding coordinator from the resort. I'm so nervous, because I don't know how everything is going to turn out! And i'm gonna have a hard time leaving everything in someone else's hands! I like to do everything myself and be in control! I guess I have no choice huh! :S

Hi Cindy15,

Things are going good so far. We leave in 7 weeks tomorrow!!! Super excited and yet scared at the same time, haha! lots to do still. The Wedding Co-ordinator emailed me this week. So when she emails you it will be with all these forms that you need to fill out and decided on. It also lets you know what is included in your package and what is extra. So that is nice. I am waiting to hear back about bouquet examples, ceremony and cake examples before I sign anything and fax anything back to her. Her name is Debbie.

Oh! good luck with your bottle invites. I had a friend do that for her mexican wedding and it looked awesome! I am using Tim allen as our photographer. He is based in Nassau and his prices are amazing and his photos are really good too. Plus he gets back to you with in hours as well. I am just like you. haha! everyone I know when I told them we were going away was like "Really? but you need to be in control of everything." but it isnt so bad.

Good luck! And sorry for the wait on my reply.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
