Calling all brides who were married on the beach

Was just trying to figure out if I wanted to wear heels or flip flops.  If you wore heels can you tell me was it uncomfortable?  Were your heels sinking into the sand and the runner.  Please can I have your advise??

I have not attended a beach wedding BUT, have you ever walked on grass with heels???  Sand is a lot softer.  The heel will definitely sink.  This will become a personal choice, if you won't mind waling on your toes then go for it.  I suggest leave the heels for after the wedding!

i am getting married on the beach and will be wearing sandals (no heels) for the ceremony then wearing heels for the reception on the terrace

Thanks a bunch ladies.  I think I will go with the flip flops and save the heels for pictures after.  Not having a reception

I was deciding between wedges, flip flops or barefoot and I think I'm going to go barefoot down the aisle to avoid falling. flip flops are a good choice too.

 

what will you wear to get your dress altered? the heels for the after pictures?

If you do a search, there are several threads addressing shoes...

 

I personally wore heels.  My WC put plywood down under the sand, so I did not sink.  If you don't have the ability to do that,
i would skip the heels and go for wedges or something similar.

You know thats a good questions sarahrose.  I have to decide.  My alterations are scheduled for 9/4.  I have a lot of thinking to do.

I say why do you need shoes on the beach?  If you do decide to wear shoes try a wedge it might keep you from sinking

I'm doing a wedge, can't imagine my wedding day not in heels of some sort.. I wear them almost every day, probably could run a short race in them.  I'd do stilettos but I'm afraid of sinking so a wedge is my compromise
