We have our ceremony booked at Central Beach and beach reception!  Time is flying!! :)  Our wedding planner Ana is great, she always responds within the day we email her.

As for decorations and vendors, we are just starting to dive into that process.. who knew there were so many details involved?! Good luck, let us know if you decide to be a GPR Bride as well!

Wedding plans are on their way for me. Just started sending out my gift box invitations =)

I have never been to Mexico before much less this resort...but I am getting married there.

A TON of research was done before I booked my wedding there.

I hit the internet first and found Dianep's review. She stayed at the Royal but had her wedding at the Gran. MUST READ!!!

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/59649/the-royal-gran-porto-real-wedding-review-long

Because of her review we are also having our reception and ceremony at the North Beach. Her wedding ceremony looked private and secluded which I loved, no need for guys in speedos in my wedding pics ;) Then there is the bar with swings at the same site, I'm thinking of making up a photobooth so this would be a great prop.

There are so many resorts to pick from so FI and I decided to hired a Travel Agent to help us make our final decision.

We went with Legacy Travel. They personally visit all of these resorts and stay there so we trusted them and their recommendations. Plus they provide the couple a webpage their guest's dates of arrival and departure! Here is ours: http://www.legacydestinationweddings.com/upcoming-weddings/85-do-julie-and-steven-newton

Our two resorts to pick between was the Azul Sensatori & Azul Fives (10 mins away from Playa) & The Gran Porto Real (in downtown playa). We went with the Gran because of our budget and that it is in walking distance to just about everything..the big ones being the Cozumel Ferry& 5th Street where all the shopping and night life is. Our guests would be bored at the secluded Azul resort.

Andrea was my original WC but she no longer works there. Mariana is now my WC and she picked up where Andrea left off without missing a beat. As for decorations and vendors...I am still debating on DIY centerpieces. The hotel florist is pricey but then also found out if you hire outside of the hotel's vendors its a $350 fee PER VENDOR!!! This is the ONLY thing I am upset about.  As I may just tI'll keep you updated if we

When we booked our rooms with Legacy Travel, the travel insurance and transportation were included. I'm not sure who the transportation company is. Good Luck!!! I really hope this helps.

Congrats Stacey!

I'm not sure if these are any good or not but here is what I picked for the reception menu.

1. Beef Fillet Tournedo with fresh wild mushrooms sauce

2. Red Snapper Fantasy stuffed with seafood & black caviar cream

3. Vegetarians- Eggplant cake with vegetables & green tomato sauce

4. Kids - Chicken nuggets served with fried potato balls.

I haven't picked a salad or dessert.

What kind of reception are you doing? Have you picked your meal options yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
