We're getting married there June 15th and after looking at photographers down there (they look amazing) it was actually cheaper for us to fly two friends of ours who are photographers down there to be our photographers so that's the route we're taking! Time is flying by and I really need to start planning more than the photographers! Lolol! How's your planning going?

I think we are leaning the same way for Photographers as it sounds much cheaper to pay there way then to pay for a photographer in Mexico (though I agree, they look amazing and know the best places for a TTD!) and pay a vendor fee when they can just be a wedding guest!!

Besides booking the resort, the wedding date/location, most of everything is just ideas in my head at this point in time!  I am looking forward to everything that will come of this next year and all of the projects I have in my mind from reading the posts on the website!  It has given me so much inspiration because when I started knowing I wanted a Destination Wedding, I knew NOTHING.  It's gonna be great though!

Hi ladies! I am also a Gran Porto Real bride. Our wedding is in April 2013. How do you like the communication with the resort so far? Sometimes I am under the impression that the only thing they care is money. They charge you for everything! Even to delivery OTT bags! Anyhow, I have already over 60 confirmed guests attending the wedding from different parts of the globe which is amazing! This forum really helps me a lot. Btw, I am Brazilian, my fiancée is Dutch, we live in Abu Dhabi and we are going to get married in Mexico. I a really excited! :)

Hiya! Just wondering who your Wedding Coordinator is? I keep having loooooong delays in response with mine and was wondering if you're having the same issues? Which beach will you be getting married on? Can't wait to touch base throughout this process and help each other along! Have a great night! ~Stina

Hi everyone we are getting married on April 17th. We just paid for everything for the wedding in GPR got the light up dance floor and having reception and cocktail our on the beach. Just a few questions about bringing gift bags can we ship ahead of time and do we need to bring our own chair sashes and center pieces for the tables?

Congratulations! :)  We had the light up dance floor and it was awesome.

We found chair sashes online for cheap and brought them with us... saved us a ton of money, and they were happy to put them on for us. They do have them available at the resort too, if you want to save the hassle and aren't as concerned about budget. Same goes for centrepieces... they have a few options available, but we we able to make our own for much less money.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
