Royal Playa Del Carmen Brides......past and future brides post here

Recommended Posts

I know there is another thread but it is crazy long so I decided to start a new one and see what response I got. Just wondering if you are already married what your experience was like and if you are a future bride what you have planned and how your planning process is going so far. We just booked our wedding yesterday for April 28th, 2011. Share your stories, thanks guys...can't wait to hear them.

Hi Jenn,

I am getting married 11.12.10 at The Royal PDC. We are having our ceremony and cocktail at the Royal with the reception next door at Kool Beach Club. Most of my planning is done. The very first thing I did was book the photographer, than we did DJ, than florist, than cake and finally hair and make up. If you have not already I highly recommend booking and working with a travel agent. It was the best decision we ever made.

This is definitely a resort that books up fast. A travel agent will ensure none of your guests get bumped if they get moved to another hotel. Mine also matched all on line rates which were great. One thing to be sure to remind your guests to book early. Price for flights have almost tripled since we booked back in February and all our guests were very happy they booked so early.

I personally picked The Royal because of its location. It is the only resort right down town which is awesome for guests. However there has been a lot of frustration with the wedding department. They are very slow to respond i think mainly because they are so overwhelmed. So it is important to remember to be patient. But every single bride has said their day was beyond their expectations at this resort.

Congrats on booking!! all the fun begins now lol let me know if you have any questions about anything

Hi Jesmcan-

I am recently engaged and also considering Nov but 2011.. You have to post your experience once your done, and pics!  Please.  Still looking at hotel options but highly considering this one as it seems the next door sister hotel which allows kids is convenient.

How has your experience with the hotel been so far?  How many guests are attending? Are you working with an outside coordinator? What travel agency did you use?

Any other details you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

This process is very exciting but so overwhelming!

Thanks for anyhelp in advance!! = D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
