The Bride's Bestfriend wants to help!

My best friend just got engaged on Saturday and wants to marry next summer in Punta Cana (the groom has family in DR.)

She is looking for an affordable off the beach all-inclusive resort that won't be expensive.  She has no idea where to start!!

Should she decide on a date first, send out save the date cards THEN book a hotel?

Guys Id like any help and direction, suggestions, or anything based on your experiences.

She's been like my sister for almost 25 years!!!  I wanna take this stress off of her or atleast help point her in the right direction.

I appreciate any help!

Thank you ladies in advanced.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

In my opinion the first thing that I would do is help her decide on a resort and then think about dates.

Depending on what month, or even which day you go prices can vary (I saved £50 per person just by going 2 days later)

And if you set a date and spend money sending out save the date cards and then you come to book and the date you want isn't available, then you've wasted all that money sending out the cards.

Also the resorts have a minimum stay before you get married there (my resort is 4 days), also the hotel could have lots of weddings on the date you choose so might not be able to accomodate you even if you manage to get the right flights.x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
