Timing your walk down the aisle.

This was my concern too since I only had my Maid of Honor, no other attendants.  I used Angel by Akon and downloaded free music editing software and shortened the song to 1 1/2 minutes.  Using the software allows you to fade the music out, join pieces of music together if you want, take out lyrics, etc.  It worked perfectly for me and by having the song fade out no one was able to tell that it abruptly stopped.

Food for thought - are you going to have music playing while your guests are arriving?  If so, a bit of one song before you start wont seem out of place, if not, think of it as building suspense.  If you have a small number of people walking down before you, break up the song between them.  Depending how long your walk is take a double count step (step, 1, 2, step, 1, 2) to help slow things down.  You could also have your parents start the song for you with your wedding party after if the breaks are too long between each person.  I am using Look At Me by Carrie Underwood and we had to change where the groom and I stand because the song was longer than the people walking, so know we are taking a slight detour around our guests (this wont work in a straight isle fashion) and the song will be finishing as I get to the stage.  Have a trial run with everyone there while the music is playing, someone may come up with the answer you need on the spot.  Congrats ladies and I wish you all many happy years!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
