Riu Palace Brides Post Here!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies! My name is Monique and I am getting married Nov.11'2010 at the Riu Palace. I seem to be a little behind in the planning department as I havnt been able to get ahold of anyone by email. Seems the M.I.C.E has been really sick.

The only thing I know is im getting married at 2 pm (yikes) on the beach. The brides maid dresses are fushia pink..which I will find a picture and attach a link asap. Here is the link to my wedding dress:

But I will be adding a fushia pink sash under the bust with rhinestones on it. So I match the girls and it gives a little pizaz.

I will keep you updated when I get more information. I have tons...just not enough time to post:)

Haha I totally went MIA, so sorry!  It's nice to see so many other Riu brides have joined in on the fun!

We're having a private reception at the Mexican Restaurant and I didn't know that we were allowed to offer set menus instead of the regular menu.  I'd want to see the menu in advance if I were to narrow it down to a set menu... I wonder if they'll send a copy to us?

My wedding is at 5 and I plan to hold a cocktail session between the photos and the reception.  I'd like it to start at some point while we're doing our photos, so people don't have to wander around on their own for too long... I haven't looked into this at all yet, but I would like to ask Monse about my options soon.

"gettingmarried" - I would LOVE to hear more about your wedding and the week at Riu Palace.  I'm so glad things went smoothly for you and that Monse pulled through.  Monse has been excellent so far, so I'm not surprised, but it is still very reassuring to hear you say this!

I'm not doing a TTD session since I'll be wearing my dress again at my post-wedding reception.  But, I do love those pictures!

I'm not going to the resort before the wedding, but I'm not kidding when I say I have 9 people coming to my wedding who have been at Riu Palace Cabo within the past 2 years - 4 people who have been at the resort for a wedding before, and 7 people who stayed at the resort for a vacation last year (and at different times of year).  I've also run into 3 people who have been to a wedding there and everyone just loves it (it has been so weird, people ask where I'm getting married and then they tell me "my daughter got married there!", etc.  I find it so strange because I had never even heard of it before finding it in my destination search!).  Anyways, my point is that every single person has raved about Riu Palace, so we feel confident in our choice to go there.

I'm sure all of our weddings will be magical and the whole week will be a blast :)

Hello everyone,

I am completely new to this but my hubbie to be and I are planning on getting married at Riu Palace Cabo, October 2011. We are currently based in Dubai and will have people coming from UK, Canada and Dubai.

Does anyone have any pictures of the areas you have reserved. I have no idea where to begin planning so I am really looking forward to hearing how everyone else is going about it. Including booking etc.

Also, anyone know where we can pictures of weddings that have been done there. Or even where to start.

Thanks!

Hi,

Just wanted to share with you ladies some photos from a recent wedding I shot at the RIU, I think it is important because many of you are having issues bringing an external photographer into the RIU, I hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,

I recently emailed the general wedding address on the RIU site. I haven't recieved a response yet! I tried to call the main number but they just referred me back to the email. How long did it take for you to hear back from the resort.

Thanks!

Hi ClairW,

A long time ago I tried emailing that address too and I NEVER received a response.  So, I went through the resort wedding coordinator and asked her to pass on my questions to the appropriate person.  Someone then got in touch with me and helped me with my general inquiries.  I'd suggest you take a similar to approach!

Best of luck,

Katie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
