puerto vallarta (marina area)

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new to this site and im not sure if I am posting this request in the right locations or not  ;) Hopefuly I am!! Anyhow, I am planning my wedding out in Puerto Vallarta in the beginning of March and I am still in search of a venue.  Here is my story.  My guests and I are taking the 7 day mexican riviera cruise and we will be in PV from 8am-10pm.  We will not need hotel accomidations sense we will be returning on the ship that evening.  I would like to find a place not to far from the marina where the ship ports that way I dont have to worry about being late when we return to the ship :) So far I have spoken with the Krystal and Villa Del Palmar.  I feel confident in both locations from the planners that their locations offer but my problem is, I have never been to PV and I wont be there until the day of my wedding!  I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the marina side or if they have any insight for me to help me make my decision.  Im running out of time!!!

Hi, If it's ok with you I would like to know how was your overall experience? Was the food good? Do they allow you to bring your own liquor? Were you able to negotiate the price down a bit?  Was the sand a problem, I know they out those mats but do the heels get stuck? Also, how far is the hotel from downtown PV? I am thinking about the Mayan Palace located in Nuevo Vallarta, This is the one you wedding was held at right? I just want to be cautious about the venue. Thanks for your time and your wedding was beautiful.

I had my wedding and reception at the Westin PV. It is in the Marina. The cruise ships dock about a mile away from the entrance of the Marina itself so you would probably have to take a taxi of some sort to get there.

Our ceremony set up and reception was great! Food was good and the hotel has wedding coordinators on staff that help you with everything.

check out the Las Caletas thread... that is my suggestion anyway

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/51931/las-caletas-couples-post-here-all-lc-brides-please-read-1st-post-red-text

there are a couple of cruise brides coming up soon. Las Caletas is an excursion that your cruise probably offers.

Las Caletas is a private beach about a 45 min boat ride from the PV marina. I know a wedding could be done when you are there and like I said there are a couple of other cruise Las Caletas brides around here who could probably give you more info...good luck!

I wanted more of a private ceremony, still beach area but not so viewable to the public.  I guess i am pretty much open minded in the end, i just want to make sure my ceremony and reception are in the same venue.  The area has to be in the marina area because travel could get complicated.  I love the private island idea but with us being on a boat for 7 days i dont want to go put them on another boat. :(  Im planning on having 50 plus so far.  Did you have some suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
