Las Caletas Wedding?

Recommended Posts

For anyone interested, here are a few Q&As I got back from people. I tracked down (on my own) 2 couples that were recently married at Las Caletas (Wedding 1 & Wedding 2), and then the response from Nicole - the WC for Adventure Weddings. Hope this is helpful!

I will try to post some pictures as well - they probably need to resized.

hi, well to start I'm not sure what kind of wedding you are planning at Caletas? Im doing the intimate ceromony and it will be at night, we are skipping the fire show thing, and during that time we will be doing the cake and first dance and speeches stuff like that. I have arranged transportation from the resort to the boat dock for the guest I think it was $9.00 a person but Im not sure. I have order my cake, flowers and photographer through Las Caletas. I would love to see all the photos that Nicole has sent you..as I'm trying not to stress I haven't really asked her for any and was going off what they had on the web site. Our group is 30 people, I have all my favors and tote bags finally ready, Im getting so excitied, how did the other couples you were seapking too like the wedding at Caletas? I hope they loved it! I have read so many reveiws on Trip advisor but nothing really relates to weddings..

Talk to you soon,

Finally someone I can speak too about Caletas!!! smile159.gif

I agree - other than my stalking two random couples, I haven't been able to talk to anyone either! They both said their weddings were FABULOUS! They had nothing negative to say - which was great to hear. We are doing the deluxe package, and ours is in the evening as well.

I was searching Google for Las Caletas and I came across their personal wedding websites - so I emailed them. I think one of them, the email actually went to their photographer, who then put me in touch with them. VERY random, but I got my questions answered! And it put me at ease with what I was signing up for. Anyway, that's how I found my Las Caletas couples!

I also found a Knottie who attended her cousin's wedding there - so it was fun to get a guests perspective as well. I will paste her review into a doc. and attach it to this post - there were some helpful comments. Like - I didn't know it was a 5-8 minute walk from where the boat drops you off to the ceremony site. So, elderly people may need assistance, and no heels if you can help it!

What are you doing for any additional decor, like flowers, candles, etc.? I hear they light the place up like crazy with tiki torches (which I love), but not sure about the actual dinner tables. I don't need fancy - but I don't want bare either.

I haven't even talked to Nicole about my cake or flowers (or anything!) yet. I think I will go with an outside photographer though - just because I am picky about those. But the rest I will go through Nicole.

Are you getting your hair/makeup done, if so, who are you using? I haven't thought about this yet either ...

Also, where are you staying? Are you having a rehearsal/welcome dinner?

Now that I finally have another Caletas girl on here - I have so many questions!

Hi,

well for any additional decor we are not doing much. We have ordered some extra small "flower table settings" and Nicole will put our favours on the table prior to our arrival. I have bubbles that someone will give all the guests as they arrive prior to the ceromony so the guests can use them after we get married.

I have requested a cd player for prior and then during and for after during the reception. Nicole will set up the cd player for when the guests arrive and we have music already picked out.

I'm planning on going over to Caletas early with my moh and bm. We are going to get our hair done at the resort prior to the wedding and we are doing our own makeup as well (we went to the MAC counter and they did it for us and gave us this great diagram so we can do it again) super easy!

We are going to use Caletas for everything, Nicole sent me pic's of cakes and flowers..as for the photographer we are going with what they have but we acutally have two guests that are photographers as well and they are going to be taking tons of pics.

The cake I have picked is very simple it will be white with fresh flowers on top and around (gerber daisy's) that's what Im picking for our bouquest as well. I have orderd extra flowers for my two girls and boutiner's for the guys and our parents. We are all staying at the Riu Jalisco and we have a dinner reservation for the first night we arrive, the lady at the resort was super helpfull and did that for us.

At the welcome dinner we are going to give our totes and just thank everyone for coming. It will work well I hope we arrive at the Riu at 1:00 in the afternoon and I made the dinner reservations for 7:00 so it should be all good!

As for our ceromony we did not pick the delux so a few things are diffrent, like we are in a succluded area however when it's time to go up to the buffet there could be other people there in line, but for us it's not a big deal we really wanted to keep things simple. Nicole has also metioned that she will set up a table for our guest book in case you are going to have one as well. Hopefully it will all work out I will def send you pic's of the wedding when I get back I can't wait!!

My parents are also having a reception for us when we get back so that should be fun as well, she is doing it with "Mexico theme" :o) Ummm if I think of other stuff I will let you know as well.

Ann, thanks for letting me know aobut this forum, its great. I will post some pictures Nicole has sent me as well. Nice detective work on tracking people down for more information, i tried to do that with no success. I am getting nervous, I havent heard from Nicole in a couple of weeks and i am waiting to hear back from her on a million things. My wedding is in less than 2 months and lots of things are still up in the air but I'm sure everything will workout. Did you decide on a dress yet? I am pretty short so I am wearing wedge heels for the ceremony since the isle is on a jut sort of runner. Just wanted to let you know so you can keep that in mind when you get your dress. Did Nicole tell you about the butterfly release available? Live butterflies released by each guest instead of throwing rice or something. So beautiful.

I need sleep, feel free to ask me more questions, hopefully I can answer them and I will probably make more sense when I am not so exhausted.

goodnight.

My pleasure - this forum has definitely helped me out a TON as well, no doubt it's the reason I feel able to pull this DW thing off!

That is odd for Nicole to not respond, especially since you're coming up on your date. I know once she sent me something via email, and I never got it - so I followed up. She felt awful, it was "stuck" in her outbox! Maybe try following up with her. She always seems so nice!

I think I may buy my dress this weekend - it's a simple silhouette with some beadwork. I thought about a very simple dress - but I like my bling! Here's a picture ... Wedding dresses and planning advice | Brides.com What are you wearing?

Nicole hadn't mentioned the butterfly thing - but that sounds like a pretty cool idea. How much does that cost?

ok, i'm new to this whole forum thing, I'll just respond to you here instead of the other one. LOVE LOVE LOVE that DRESS!!! This is my dress: Amazon.com: Ivory Halter Evening Gowns from Dina Bar-el: Apparel

The butterfly release is like 7 bucks a person I think. There are two sizes, small white butterflies or the big orange ones. The small white ones may be about 6 dollars each.

I can show you the photographers you can choose from, the hair salons and some other stuff, I'll post in a few minutes.

So glad I can talk to someone who is in the same boat!!!

Here are a few documents that may help you:

And here is what Nicole said about the photographers, along with links:

So, I have a few websites for the photographers. We use Roberto Aceves more so

than anyone else in town because he is reliable and very good at what he does.

Also, there are a few other photographers that we use at times. Franco Gonzales

and Carlos Mehlnik - I have included all of their links below. If you do not

like Robertos work or you find someone else more interesting, let me know. There

are only a few great photographers in town, and these 3 guys offer the packages

that we have on the website. In addition, I have included a couple of other

ladies at the bottom who are free-lancers and you would need to set up fees and schedules with them on your own. Take a look at

it all and let me know what you think.

As for hair, well, I have two websites that I can show you. We work with two

salons in Vallarta who are willing to go out to Caletas to do their work. Both

sites are below. I have also attached the Hair Packages document to this email.

The services that they offer in Caletas is specific and you would be able to

choose the way you want everything to lookonce they are out there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
