Shower Favors

Recommended Posts

I really want to give shower gel with a puff thingy with a "From my shower to yours-Love Angela" tag (or something like that), but I'm not really involved with my shower or bachelorette party planning.. my three bridesmaids are coordinating everything.

Who buys favors and all that stuff? I want to buy them because I found cheap puffs at Target and the showergel at Ross, but don't want my girls to get mad.. just not sure how these things work..

Yeah, I had the same issue with my shower. My MOH is a super organized planner. I wanted guests to fill out guest book pages that I made but was scared that might be stepping on her toes since she planned the event. I just talked to her about it. She was very cool with it, loved the pages and actually took charge of it in that she got the guests to fill them all out. So my suggestion is to just bring this up with your MOH or BMs and I'm sure it won't be a problem.

By the way - very cute idea!

I have no problem talking to the girls about this, but all the plans for my shower are a surprise (other than the date) so I have no idea if there's a theme, where we'll be going/doing, etc...

I brought up how I found really cute invites that I wanted to buy and they said I shouldn't be buying anything.. they never brought it up again so now I don't know.. just wondering how the other girls were involved with their showers.

I didn't do that, and I've never been to a shower where there were any so I don't think any one expects it.

I did however make some extra wedding favors that I'm going to give to some people who couldn't afford to attend our wedding. I'm just going to give them the favor when we get back with a thank you card for their gift.

my sister is in charge of my shower, and i told her AND my FMIL that i wanted cookies as favors, b/c i always get favor crap and never use it...usually just toss it - why waste money? sister has been behind me on whole thing, saying no to ideas that FMIL has...well FMIL decided that the cookies were too much $$ and instead, she was going to do little cookies inside mismatched teacups (shower's at a tea house), ignored one of my sister's emails and has already started collecting cups...now what the h*ll are my friends and family going to do with ONE tea cuphuh.gif? fryingpan.gif

sorry - that unraveled this morning and i'm (obviously) still upset. rant.gif

i guess my advice is be very specific and hope for the best.

I knew what was going on for my shower so that may have helped. My shower wasn't a surprise. My bachelorette was though and for that they wouldn't let me do or know anything. I'd just ask them and then you should be able to feel out whether or not you can provide the favour.

My MOH and I were just starting to talk about a shower for October.

I don't know what the etiquette would be on that, not that I would follow it anyway, ha!

I don't mind paying for them myself. I was going to bring back some items from my Mexico trip last week, but I didn't find what I really wanted, and when I did, they didn't have enough of them.

So to answer your question... just ask your BMs... maybe they already have it all planned out and you won't have to do a thing :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
