BM Issues

Oh, well that stinks. I didn't realize you were counting on her for other things as well. Perhaps she can give you some makeup lessons? (That is what I really need to do, eventually.)

I know it is hard when people can't do for you what you would do for them. I have been friends with 4 girls for between 15-20 years and not one of those girls is making the trip to Jamaica. They were supposed to be my bridesmaids. (They even said Yes when I asked them and then after about 4 months, they all backed out, one by one.) My one other friend who i've only been close with over the last 6 years or so, said in a heartbeat that OF COURSE she would be there. I would do anything for my friends and I have in the past. So I totally understand the hurt when they don't do the same for you. I think you just have to realize that it isn't that she cares less then you care, just that she cares in a different way. Like those friends of mine do care and they are there for me in many ways, but just not in Jamaica. Sorry to have gotten off topic, I am just trying to relate it...

I actually did take lessons, but it was in personal make-up, not bridal make-up. She told me last night that she would get her friend who is a make-up teacher to teach me how to do the things I want to and to give me some products as her way of trying to make up for it. So, hopefully she does do that, then I will not be as stressed about it. I hope.

Julie I'm sorry that your BF is not coming, but I'm glad its finally resolved. And at least now you won't have to stress about the extra money, you can just help GM out.

I would offer to do your hair and make-up for your wedding but:

1. I don't know how to do hair and make-up and

2. I'm American, I can't travel to Cuba.

That is not good enough Glenda, you should be able to do it for me anyway. Go to school now, you have 2 months, and become a Canadian citizen as well. If you heart me you will do it. smile120.gif

You are too cute Glenda!!

Except that we hardly ever say eh. lol I catch myself saying it once in a while, but hardly ever. And, I rarely ever here others say it.

Alright, you get to work and I expect you to keep me updated on your progress. Actually, you and I can legally get married here, that way you can become a citizen, and then I will get an annulment before we leave. Deal?

She just can't come up with the money. I was not surprised. She seemed really upset and really sad that she can't come and is going to miss my wedding, and I believe she is being sincere. So, I told her not to worry, I will come running home with a video and pictures for her to watch.

So, issue number 2 was do I ask someone else to stand in her place. Well, I decided to ask the other girl that I mentioned before. She said she is honored. She made a few jokes about it, but was totally kidding. So, in a sense my BM issues are resolved. Now, we can use the money towards the GM.
I'm just catching up on this thread. Sorry I've missed so much. My heart's been aching through this whole read. I can completely empathize with you!

I'm glad things appear to have worked out and hopefully you and your 1st BM can get past this. I think it SUCKS! YOu may find out this other friend (your now BM) than you realized before. Sometimes BFF's don't always stay that way and what's important to each of us is different.

Anyway, I'm rambling ... but know that people at and in your wedding as well as people who couldn't make it all love you and wish you happiness!

We will still be friends for sure. I am doing my best to not make a big deal out of it. I know she is sad she can't come. She even asked her grandmother and her father for a loan, but they said no. So, she did try. I just wish she had eaten out a few less times and not shopped so much, but that is in the past, nothing can change it now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
