Outdoor reception lighting at Dreams

Recommended Posts

I am trying to decide whether it is worth having tiki lights and votive candles. From all the beautiful pictures I have seen, the lighting seems perfect for an outdoor reception. Any suggestionshuh.gif Tiki lights or no tiki lights...votives or no votives on the tables. I am all about the less is more concept. But I am literally a few weeks away and I am starting to over think EVERYTHING!

I used both tiki torches (I think we had 10 total) and votives on the tables. The votives were part of our centerpieces - we just did candles & shells, very simple. I liked the look with candles & tikis (we also used luminaries). Dreams will add an extra spotlight for you at the reception site and the tree lights will be on so you don't have to use votives or tikis, but I think it's a nice extra touch. Where is your reception - Cascade or Oceana?

While there was adequate lighting at Dreams, I still had votives. There is a certain ambiance that the pillar candles and votives created. I did forgo the tiki torches but think that they included then during the welcome dinner. While I wouldn't pay Dreams the outrageous fee for votives but do feel like they make a difference.

I forgot to mention that I also did the luminarie bags. I didn't have time to personalize but I brought them with me.

100 white paper lunch bags

100 tea lights

This is a must!!!! Trust you won't be dissappointed. It looks great in photos and at night to have your pathways lit is really cool.

I also got married and had my reception at Cascade Terrace. It's awesome!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
