Thinking about getting married in jamaica

Recommended Posts

My daugther was going to have a mid size wedding in the U.S. Her dream was always to have a wedding in the island and if she had the wedding in states with coworkers family and some friends she would have to hold off on having a honeymoon. After my brother suddendly passed away and her favorite uncle she decided just to go away with close members fo the family to get married. Her two good friends and husbands also joined us and it was the best decision she said she maid. She had her dream intimate wedding in Negril, Jamaica and said she has no regrets and would do it all over again. I posted some pics if you want to see the resort and wedding.

Getting married in Jamaica was the best thing we did!  My new husband is Greek and we would have a wedding with 500 people if we had it at home.  We had 51 people vacationing together for a week and it was amazing!!!

Our wedding was perfect, laid back, beachy and wonderful!  I am a total supporter of getting married in Jamaica.

I have also been to weddings in both Cuba and Mexico and DW are the way to go!

My cousin got married in St. Lucia in 2008 and it was the best wedding I have ever been too! It inspired me to want a destination wedding, the backdrop is amazing, you are surounded by your close family and friends having the time of your life and you save so much money! Having a wedding in the US is insane the minute the vendors hear its for a wedding their prices triple!

I'm w/JesseLyn10...We got married in Jamaica & we totally loved it!  Our guests loved it too....we had a total of 20 people...and it was perfect!  I can't imagine having a wedding in the states w/100+ people...I was exhausted with all the events & things we did with our group, I can't imagine having to entertain 100+people :)

We got married @ Iberostar Grand Rose Hall & we absolutely loved it :) :)

Good Luck to you!!! :)

I have chosen Jamaica to get married in because although i have never visited, the Carribean is somewhere i have always wanted to go. People who have been their have told me how different it is to any other holiday they have been on, like a whole different world. It sounds beautiful. Jamaica seemed to be one of the cheaper places to go in the Carribean when looking through the holiday brochures.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
