We did rent the beach bar for the after dinner reception at $15 per person. The dj was also an additional cost.

Tai Flora did my flowers and they have an incredible selection!  I don't know how you would pack flowers if you are going to try to get everything into one suitcase especially since my luggage got so man-handled on the trip!  I would get in touch with Tai Flora and ask them if they have or can get the flowers you want.  I was working with Jennievie - ochorios@taiflora.com

Tal Flora also did my centre pieces.  We had a luggage restriction of 2 bags per person flying into Montego Bay and there was no way  I would have brought centre pieces.  I just told them I wanted simple white flowers in vases with candles and they totally delivered!  the dinner decorations were also brought down to the beach reception so we got to use them all night!

Your pics and decor are amazing,, what a beautiful wedding !

Im thinking i will have about 40 people coming all together for april 11/2010. I also chose ocho rios and i have the date and location booked. I want a private reception and have a couple of questions for you :

1- How did you choose the locations for your reception , just by reading this forum ?

This second question is rather personal , you just answer if you want to :

2- How much did you pay Tai Flora at the end for all of your decor,, im doing a beach theme wedding and my colors are also white and blue,, similar to yours.

3- If you added so many extras,, why did you choose the Caprice Package and was there any advantages to it ?

Thank you in advance, your response will definitely help me.. decisions,, decisiions...

1.  We wanted beach, beach, beach which is how we chose our reception venue.  We had dinner at Mammee Bay and wanted a whole change of scene for the dancing and the poolside looks nice but it's something we could have done at home - the beach fit our vision perfectly!  I didn't even find out about this forum until after we had decided on the venue.

2. For my decor for the ceremony, dinner and reception (including all the flowers), we paid $2460 US.

3.  The packages are based on the number of guests.  We had 51 people and the Caprice was the only package that accomodated a large group.  We did get a complementary couples massage, breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding, some discounts on our flowers, a RIU gift (t-shirts, a mug and booze).

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much!

Now the more i look at your pics im more and more inclined to the beach party after the meal,,

lol.

Im still undecided about the florist, i contacted floral fantasy and their prices are a lot cheaper than tai, but im not sure about the vendors fee at ocho rios,, ive been reading here and i get more and more confused, i guess ill have to wait until the WC decides to reply my emails.

My wedding is like 7 months away and im already stressed, lol ,, did the same happened to you , im also working with Antonette, hope everything goes as smoothly as yours did.

Cheers,

Yeny

The reason I chose Tai Flora was because their reply time was so great.  I was really happy with them.

I have read on this site about floral fantasy but my FI and I decided to pay the extra for Tai thinking that 'you get what you pay for'. I couldn't have been happier with them.

I don't know what the 'vendors fee' refers to.  I had asked Chandlyn about Tai and she said that they do a lot of work with them.  I was comfortable knowing that Tai knew the wedding venues and reception sites so when they suggested decor, everything was exactly how they explained it.

The beach party was the best!

Thank you!  I left the cake topper at home and bought the one in the photos at the gift shop.  When I got home, the one I had forgotten just didn't fit the cake and I am SO happy that I used the wooden one.

OH WOW! This looks so beautiful. It looks like you had a wonderful day. Thank you for sharing your photos as it helps soon to be ROR brides to calm down. If you do find the Mamme Bay table set up photos please post them as I can't visualise how it would look. What was up with the DJ- did you complain?

Congratulations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
