What are you (or did you) Giving Your Fiance for a Wedding Present?

Recommended Posts

I got just a couple golf clubs as a gift for my husband (back in the day) almsot 10 years later and they were just replaced this year ... however the golf clubs will reside in my rarely-used golf bag, so they're still around ; )

I have decided I am doing the BD photos as well. He will love them. and I will love them. I also am using it as a good excuse to get in shape. I really need to anyways if I want to be in public wearing a swimsuit down in Mexico for the wedding. I figured if I put the cash down for the BD shoot...and book it a few months out if will force me to get in shape.

Plus I have always wanted to do a suicidegirls photoshoot ,but i can't cause i'd loose my job if they ever got out.

I know that my FI would say that we are skipping gifts since we are mostly paying for the whole wedding ourselves. We are also in the process of buying a house and it is so not cheap in the DC area.

But now that I think of it, maybe I should get him a nice set of cufflinks. I am not doing pictures, I'm not shy and am in good shape but having strangers taking pictures of me in provocative poses is just not something I want to do. My FI can take all the pictures that he wants though :)

This is tough! We are a blended family with five young kids, so BD gifts are out of the question, mainly because I already have the stretch marks!!

I really want to do something kind of personal that will signify our future together. (I guess that's the idea of the watch...) I liked one of the first ideas of giving a handmade box with fifty places you can travel to together. If anyone has any ideas along these lines, I'd love to know!

So I've known I was going to give Boudoir pics but I've been debating on how to give them to him. Here's what I've come up with....I'm getting an letter size paper print of one of my pictures. I'm going to cut it into puzzle pieces and leave one piece each day for the week before we go away (maybe even just a couple of days) then once we get to Punta Cana...that evening I'll put out the last piece and hide the book in our room. I think it will be a super fun way to start our wedding week and I can't wait. My book was just ordered this week so it should be here soon!

Here's the pic I'm using for the puzzle:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
