Inviting DW guests to AHR???

Recommended Posts

This is the experience we had with ours.  Everyone got along so well in the Bahamas - many of them never having met each other - and they were thrilled to see each other again two weeks after the ceremony.

Our friends and family that didn't know each other before the wedding became great friends while spending several days together at the DW. I think they would really like a chance to meet up again and rekindle the new friendships.

Thanks for this great post!!!.. It answered a lot of questions I had!!..

Did anyone include on their DW invitation that they would have an AHR?  Or should you keep them totally seperate?

I live in AL, FI lives in GA and since I will be moving to GA once we are married I am thinking we should do an AHR in GA no more than 1 month after we return. Possible our 1 month anniversary since it will be on a Saturday (inviting everyone) and doing dancing, appetizers, drinks, have photos out from the wedding, thumb print tree for everyone to sign and a wedding cake for everyone.

We are included everything in one mailing the invitation will be for the DW and reception enclosure card will have the AHR info and the reply card will list both events.  I don't want to hurt anyone feeling so we thought that this would be the best way to do it.  that way no one feels excluded.

Ahh.. that's a good idea!!.. I don't want to make over 200 passport invited though... lol..  We are just inviting our close family and friends to the DW to keep it more personal and simple.. And then invited everyone to the AHR so that they feel included. Because of course we want to able able to see everyone at the AHR.

Hi ladies!  This is a really helpful thread.  My FI and I are getting married in DR in April 2013. This is causing major stress in my family because it's a lot of money to fly down for some members.  So, we'll be holding a AHR in June 2013 and hoping this appeases everyone.

Is the general consensus that you invite everyone on the DW invite to the AHR party??  I was originally thinking we'd do something small and intimate back home but the more I think about it I wonder if we should make this AHR really big?  Did some of you wait to decide how big/small until after you got your DW RSVP's??

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
