I've still got to make a few more of these, but I wanted a simple and light centerpiece to take to Mexico. I'm just going to set up 4 along our table, along with some white damask candles I bought. These were quite light, and not a dense glass so I'm not to worried about transporting them. Probably just stuff them with clothes, wrap 'em in a towel, and put them in a carry-on for FI so bring (since I gotta lug around a beast of a dress!).

Our table linens and chair bows are plum, so I attached a ribbon to the top of the vase to tie it into the theme. Green is the accent colour.

I know these centerpieces are popular with BDW brides.

Cost breakdown:

Vase - $4

Ribbon - $.25

2 Orchid/vase - $1.50

Floating candle - $.33

TOTAL = $6.08 per centerpiece.

Yes I did. I hate how expensive fake flowers are! I checked at other craft stores and dollar stores but they looked SO cheap and SO fake. Yuck.

They were $5.99 for a stem with 7 blooms, so it's not too bad depending how many flowers you need. Coupons are always a bonus too cheesy.gif

Great job! I'm going to do this for either the wedding or shower, not sure which.

I totally agree about the silk flowers! That's why I think I'm going to just use real orchids, especially if it's for the shower since transporting them won't be an issue!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
