St Thomas Wedding June 2011 WC Help

Recommended Posts

For my welcome dinner on 2.24.2011 I just put down my deposit at Robert's American Grille at Cowpet Bay.  For a "Casual Beach BBQ" they charge starting at $28/person for the food and then you can do a drink package or you can do based on consumption.  I'm gonna do consumption because I don't think it will be worth it for all you can drink for the welcome dinner.

If you have any more specific questions, let me know!

Talking to a few places, it looks like for parties under probably about 50, we are better off doing consumption based over open bar.  I'm thinking of doing Bolongo, but some of these places are so hard to get in touch with. I heard a lot about island vendors and how it's very hard to contact them. I'll take a look at Roberts American Grille as well.

St Thomas is one of my (3) choices too that I've been gathering information from.  The wedding package prices that I've seen aren't too bad, but the hotel rates everywhere were just too high!!  We loved the Wyndham, but paying $400-$600/night is NOT an option for us or our guests.

I mean, cmon. The hotel is nice, but not that nice!  Especially when the Ritz Carlton - Rose Hall in Jamaica is $179/night.

I'm just saying :)

Hi everyone,

I'm late coming into this thread since I'm a noob and just started planning my 2013 cruise wedding.  I was wondering if any of you did a cruise wedding and lastly, how did everyone's turn out w/ your WC.  I'm still in the process of weighing out the pros and cons of using a cruise line WC or an of the cruise one.  Thank you for your time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
