HELP! Trimming the playlist for 2 hrs?

Recommended Posts

Hey all!

FI and I spent the last couple months coming up with a playlist of songs from high school, college, and our favorite: Michael Jackson. cheesy, yes. I know... but we love R & B from the 90's.

So now the problem is that I have 5 hours of my all time favorite songs that are danceable (slow & fast), some latin grooves for my family (just like 8 songs), and classic songs too, OH... and some must have late night grooves too.

Our dinner is an hour and I've got the mellow tunes for that, the problem is that the reception is only 2 hours. Our group is kinda small but we're all into dancing and I wanted to make sure that I had a little for everyone.

How do I get rid of songs that I LOVE??

I'm leaving in less than a week so I'm kinda crazy about this!!

Oh, that's a toughy! I would maybe just start doing process of elimination and see which type of music you have the most and then cut some out OR if all else fails just flip a coin! LOL Since it's a list of all of your favorite music already, I'm sure the 2 hour list you come up with will be just as great.

Sorry I'm not much help!

Thanks Norma. I think I might just flip the coin... since it's all my favorite anyways.

You've given me the confidence boost I needed, you rock! Must be a Dallas thing I think, lol!

I like the shuffle idea. It's kind of random, but out of your original choices.

This may sound a bit silly, but we will put 2.5 hours on ipod for the reception, and the rest on cd.  After the reception, if people are still up for it, we will spend more time at an open bar and see if we can bribe the barman to put our cd in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
