I am a NASM certified personal trainer and although (right now!) I haven't exactly been practicing what I preach, I will provide some advice. I don't think your goal is unreasonable but you need to have an "I would be happy with ____ lbs lost, but I'm shooting for 30".

You need to buckle down and not just diet- work out as well. I have an extremely high powered job so trust me, I'm trying to figure out the balance here myself, but just dieting isn't going to cut it if you want that much weight lost. Cardio 3-4 x a week, 5 if you can swing it. And STRETCH your muscles AFTER you work out!!! SO important!

Also, be realistic. If you go out with your friends and one of them has the chcoclate volcano brownie ice cream thing, take a bite, enjoy it. Just don't eat the whole thing. Dieting is about changing your everyday habits, not about depriving yourself.

Also, DO NOT get discouraged if the scale stays the same one week in the middle of dieting. This happens, it is perfectly normal. I promise, if you keep at it, it WILL move the next week.

Vary your eating- do not make yourself the same things every single day. I have this problem when dieting because I am a vegetarian and I feel limited so I end up eating the same things and getting bored. Try new ideas, look up low fat recipes.

Seriously, we all know the struggle, I'm with you right now. Just don't get discouraged. There will be times you will be frustrated, don't let it ruin all the hard work you've done. You WILL see results, I promise.

PM me if you need ongoing support... I'm here for you!!! :)

30 lbs is doable for your wedding. 1-2lbs a week is considered a safe weight loss. The TheFutureWagners gave some great tips.

I'm a Weight Watchers leader so if you have any questions or problems or anything about the program let me know!

I think the only thing I want to add is make sure you write down everything eat, drink and all the Activity Points you earn.

Hey Cams.....

I'm down 22 with 8 more days to go.  I doubt I'm going to hit 30 lbs, but I think I'll lost another 4-5 lbs before I go......HOPEFULLY!  Thanks for asking.  Encouragement is always welcomed.  I struggled with my exercising in the beginning.  With work and then finalizing wedding plans, I just became exhausted and lacked motivation to get my rear in gear.

Good luck with your weight loss!  I know you can do it!!!!!

Cams-

I have started my planning thread, but I havent finished it yet.  I've been keeping things stored (ha).  There is so much to do and it's so exciting!  I love reading other threads that I hope mine is helpful to those planning their weddings.

Motivation is key....If you need a push, let me know!  We cant chat about it over a 100 calorie pack (ha).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
