RIU Caribe or RIU Cancun any thoughts?

Recommended Posts

We are trying to decide where to get married RIU Caribe or RIU Cancun...

We Love the beach and have kids that will becomming along so we are leaning towards the RIU Caribe, but we also love the modern look of the RIU Cancun. The Prices are with in 100$ of each other so any info or feed back form anyone would be appreciated :)

Thanks

I was just married at the RIU Palace Las Americas next door to RIU Cancun. Some of my guests stayed at the RIU Caribe and said that it was very nice. I think that the RIU Cancun is a little more modern as far as decor though.

I stayed at the Riu Cancun in June. I loved it! I saw a wedding party and bride put couldn't figure out where she had the wedding. Where exactly did they said the ceremony would be held. Just curious. The location is fabulous its within walking distance. I will show you a picture outside the hotel. It's a mall right across the street. This was taken in the hall of the floor we were on...If you have any others questions you can PM me.

Hi, TA Wendy here... I just stayed at the RIU Palace Las Americas and toured both the Caribe and the RIU Cancun.

Of all the RIU properties the RIU Caribe is the only one they purchased already built and operating. So it does not look like the other RIUs or have the same Europeany / Spanishy decor. I felt like it was a good option for a lower priced property, it certainly has a lovely position on the beach, with many/most rooms offering excellent views. It also had by far the largest ballroom facilities I saw anywhere if you are looking for large indoor space.

Of the two properties, however, I think I preferred the RIU Cancun, just for the look of the hotel in general, beautiful lobby, great pools, restaurants, and fun nightclub.

Hope that helps! Best regards, TA Wendy

I don't remember the RIU Caribe having many options for ceremony locations when I was there in January. I guess that's only a problem if you don't plan to marry on the beach. We liked our stay all the rooms face the ocean which is a nice plus and the price is good.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
