I got him to go to the tanning salon with me last night! Victory Janet! lol

Janet,
I say if hes not into it, then its not worth the money spent. I was thinking of trying to convince Ryan to go tanning a little before our wedding and I think I would have to drive him 2 towns over to some incognito tanning salon in order to get him to agree to it. Some guys are just not open to these things. I wish he was but, it is what it is.

Janet - I think you should definitely go for a massage for him. And like Karla suggested, do a couples massage so you can show him what to do (remember the first time you got a massage?)

BEWARE! I took my honey up to Napa Valley about 6 months ago for a little get away. I had previously tried to get him to see my regular massage therapist & he just never would. OK, so he stayed in the spa in Napa longer than I did after the massage! He was all in the men's locker room using the steam bath, the sauna, the whirlpool. He used all of the frilly spa products they put out (shampoo, lotion, etc). Now he's a total undercover spa enthusiast! What have I done? He can't wait for his next treatment (and that's what he actually calls them now!)

Ha! My FI just called to say he booked us spa appointments this weekend. I love having a metrosexual FI!

I was just talking with him this morning about getting a pedicure since he is going barefoot on the sand, but he's a bit resistent to that. A steam and a massage? He's proactive about getting them "for us."

Anyway - most of our guy friends get massages - but not frilly ones! The most adventerous they'll go for is a hot stone massage. Here's a tip - schedule him for a 50 minute head and foot massage if he seems resistant to a full body massage. That will get him hooked!

Thanks again for all your advice, ladies. I have decided to start small, and I booked a nice haircut and shave at a men-only salon here in DC. They say to set aside 90 minutes, so I think there is a head/neck massage in there as well. I hope he enjoys it and feels relaxed, but doesn't get so addicted that we start going broke at the spa :) I'll let you know how it goes!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
