dang! thats rough when she doesnt understand to SHUT UP!!!!

oooooh just reading you described her ANNOYSSSSS MEEEE!!!!!!!!!

makes me want to slap dumb people like that!

Im so sorry.

Try turning the tables, "Say oh thats a wonderful idea! Why didnt I think of that?? Thank you so much!" and then the day of, she will see how all YOUR ideas and HARD work combined beautifully.

Then if she asks why you didnt use her idea's, just say, "Oh dont be silly!" and laugh it off, heehee

I LOVE this idea. It could be problematic if she decides to start something on the day of your wedding but if you just went along with all of her ideas but just threw them to the wind she wouldn't know the difference until it's too late!

Honestly though, it sucks you've even asked her to stop and she still wont listen...i think your going to have to a pull a bridezilla on her or something to get the message through and make it stick!

good luck!

If you want her off your back for now, just say "thanks for the great idea" and leave it at that. She won't know if you're going to follow through until the day of your wedding and by then, it's too late. Awww, too bad. It would only be a temporary fix as people like her will never stop trying to control others; it's their nature and most will never admit it's a problem. THe only thing that might work (after the wedding) is to cut off ties until she gets the message. Good luck!!!!!

I think maybe during my conversation yesterday with her, she finally "got it." She emailed me this morning and said that she is sure that whatever I plan will be beautiful and left it at that.

We'll see how long this lasts.

It sounds like it may have finally sunk in! Fingers crossed it'll stay this way for you!
If not, like some of the other girls said, just put a big smile on your face, thank her for her idea/opinion and forget it!!!! In one ear out the other!

I thought I was going to have issues with my FMIL, she is very opinionated and not scared to say whats on her mind - which isn't all bad, but can be upsetting!! However she's been the complete opposite - not expressing an interest at all! She's booked to come and got her outfit, but thats about it! Not asked any questions or offered any ideas! Now I'm feeling like she doesn't care.... suppose she can't win eh!

What a pita! Hopefully she gets it now... even if she doesn't appreciate your ideas now when she sees how great everything is at the wedding and how much everyone else loves what you've done she'll tell you it's beautiful and you'll know she means it.
