I am super excited that everyone can celebrate all of this together...and we get to party even more!!!! PS..the guy whose 30th bday is on the day after was mad we planned the wedding too close to his bday!! So I guess Im stealing his thunder!
We celebrated my mom's 50th bday on the trip too. It was fun because you can only do so many celebratory wedding shots. We then moved on to her birthday. It's a great way to keep the party going because towards the end of the trip everyone is enjoying each other and totally loving the group atmosphere!

LOL for stealing his 30th bday thunder. What a drama queen. wink.gif What a perfect way to celebrate! We are going to Hawaii for mine and I don't think I could get all my best friends and family to really give a shit and travel for the fun. We've tried! Really- a wedding is the only time you can use the guilt. LOL

ETA- sorry it got so spirited Jennifer. LOL This isn't the first thread where opinions totally clash. Look up other etiquette type questions like is it ok to as for cash... :)

However, I'm glad you feel better about it because the last thing you need is stress. It will find you in other ways if you let it!

It's so interesting to see what different brides expect out of their DW> I think the married BDW brides gave you some great advice, and I"m so glad to see you are more relaxed. Your wedding will be amazing!!!

Whooo looks like this thread blew up yesterday!

I loved reading it all - think it's great that ladies who have already been married are still on here to give us B2B advice, makes you see it from a whole different perspective and you realise there is life after your wedding!

Personally I'd love if someone got engaged during the week after our wedding, takes the attention away from us and then we can easily sneak off for some Man and Wife time!! Lol!

My FI proposed when we were away on vacation and my sister was due to give birth any day (we booked before she fell preggers!) Well he waited until she had given birth and proposed on the next day - as to not take any thunder away from my sister - although giving birth and proposing is on completely different levels!

Suppose what I'm trying to say, blokes can be more sensitive to these things that what you think!

Either way I'm sure you'll have a wonderful wedding day and vacation with your family!

Good for you that your not worrying about it. Trust me no one is going to take any attention away from you and really when you think about it everyone is going to congratulate them for about 15 mins and move on. She'll be the only one staring at her ring the whole time. Its cool if he'd wait till after your wedding like you want him too. Awesome that your fi told the BM and let him know what you guys wanted. I'm sure he'll respect that and wait till after.

I was so stressed out over wedding planning and a ton of stuff before the wedding and the moment the plane landed in Punta Cana and i stepped out my attitude totally changed. I literally didn't give a sh*t about anything i was stressed out about for months and months. It was such an awesome feeling. I bet you'll feel the same way.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
