I would try to get a refund over the phone :-D
and say because their tech has crummy hours.
    and go elsewhere.
Im really sorry, brides are so very busy to be having to go back places.

I would call them and ask what options there are. They might refund you, or fix them for free. Either way, they should know that she didn't give full attention and left a customer unsatisfied.

It's so hard to mix friend/family and business!

I disagree with most. if its an hour away from work and 1/2 hour from home, it wouldn't be worth my time. I'd go somewhere else and just not rebook due to distance/schedule... I really dislike dealing with conflict and this is one thats easily avoidable imo and not too costly.

I actually went to another place and had them fixed.  They look so much better - I should have done before and after pictures. They were lifting all over the place.  I just didn't feel like dealing with the conversation with the other place and driving all the way over there - the place I went to is right by my home and since it's in the mall - open till 9 at night even during the week.  I'm going to have to call to cancel my next appointment at the first place now - I bet my "friend" won't even say anything - she has to know she did a crap job - you can't do nails for 20 years and do them that badly.

I'm glad you were able to get them fixed.  Looks like things turned out for the best after all... you found a place closer to your house to get them done in the future!

I wouldn't drive all the way there either, not worth it, I'd personally just write it off/

Funny,  I called the other place to cancel my appointment - I made it while I was there - they didn't even ask me why I was cancelling or if I wanted to reschedule.  I'm wondering if she will contact me when she realizes I'm not coming.

                Thanks for your support everyone!
