Annoyed with Everyone

Recommended Posts

Sorry for your frustrations. I feel your pain. We are about 2 weeks before you and in the exact same situation, not even my parents have booked!!! I know they are coming, they ordered and received passports but I truly think my mom wants me to book for her, which I refuse... it was one of the big reasons to use a TA versus an online site.

Anyway, chin up, as long as you and FI are there, anyone else is gravy. Have fun, try not to let it get you down.

I agree with Wendy, besides our bridal party no one has really booked...and Im sorry but i am not anyones mom to be on their butts about booking...if they dont book, they dont book plain and simple...like wendy said as long as you and your FI are there thats all that really matters.

Thank you thank you thank you sooo much!

First I did do the mistake of putting the RSVP for July 23rd thinking that I wanted to be done with all the wedding stuff before August so I could enjoy the rest of my summer.

Thanks for the advice about telling them I need a head count to finalize payments and things with the WC, I will send them everyone an email July 30th and let them know that I need them to book so the WC knows they're part of my wedding or something.

I know at the end of the day it will only matter if its FI and I but even my best friend who's supposed to be my maid of honor and his brother in law who's his best man haven't booked and don't seem like they're booking any time soon.

Since the people I've invited are people who we are very close to I think I might just ask them to tell me the truth and are they really going so I can continue with the rest of my planning.

Again thank you so much, don't get me wrong I am still VERY excited to be having my wedding in Paradise, I just wish ppl would stop trying to feed me BS.

I <3 BDW and being able to have so many wonderful ladies who know exactly what I'm going through

majority of our guests didn't book til the month before or even a couple weeks before. we ended up having 42 guests come.

be patient, it will happen. just remember that even though you have been planning this day forever...not everyone else has.

also remember that even if people don't come you are doing a DW for yourselves. enjoy your day and focus on the positive things.

I know it's frustrating but agree with everyone else, alot of people wait until the last 2 months or so to book because they are waiting for a deal. When I initially announced our wedding everyone said they were on board and slowly month by month people dropped off. At first I was upset and then I decided that as long as the most important people were there everything would be fine. Don't worry you are going to have a great wedding!

Luciel, I feel your pain!  I'm having my wedding the week after yours cheesy.gif Unfortunately I made the mistake of booking 20 group rooms (b/c of my FI's persistence).  We have filled 9 of the rooms so far.  2 rooms were booked separately because of timing issues.  Luckily we were able to cancel 5 of the rooms.  But we still have 6 left to fill!  PLUS, last week we made an additional deposit (over $2,000) to keep the rooms we had because they weren't filled yet.  I'm trying to tell people to PLEASE book ASAP but nobody does!  I even made the RSVP in mid-July thinking it might spur some people to book, but it hasn't at all.  Plus...about 60% of the people who said they were coming in the beginning (also part of the reason we booked so many rooms) aren't coming at all.  I cried alot about this last week...I feel it is such an unnecessary burden and stress.  I feel like people are being so rude.  At least having a DW you know who REALLY wants to come and support you!  That is what I am trying to get from this situation...hehe.

Your situation does suck but if your friends are procrastinators, or feel that they can get a better deal last minute (like some of mine) then they probably are waiting to book and you may see an influx of bookings when your wedding is only a few weeks away. I know it's not an ideal situation for a bride but it is part of a DW. Hopefully the situation works out for you. Just remember why you chose a DW and keep your 'eye on the prize'! LOL!

I feel your pain. We had guests not book until 1 week before the wedding and its the least thing you want to worry about when you got so many stressful things happening at the same time. And there are some guests who will flake. The best is to not worry about it. I know it sux when people do these things but definitely the persons who WANT to be there and enjoy the time with you will be. And the ones who are not meant to be there wont. It is probably for the BEST in the end too! The persons who showed to our wedding were awesome and we all had a fun and relaxing time. (and some of them also gave us a hard time in the beginning) In the end it will work out great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
