Hello all :) ..

Im due to get married in March 2011 but deciding on a resort for the wedding has been a nightmare so far!! As there is so many requirements to take into consideration for the guests I can't seem to settle on anything.

Due to budgets of the guests (we're coming from the UK so it's working out expensive) and other factors we've decided that we will stay in a cheaper hotel for 1 week with the guests, have the wedding in the first week, and then move to a more honeymooney hotel for the 2nd week for just the two of us. But because of this we'd need to have our wedding 'A La Carte'.

I've noticed that the Gran Porto Real and Gran Carible Real both offer this service, but I was wondering if any one has come across any other hotels that do it? Or if any one has used this service? Any advice at all would be really appreciated. I've only got 8 months left so I need to start getting things booked!!

Thanks girls.x

so happy to see that some brides are looking to avoid packages and make their wedding more personalized

What we suggest is jsut book rooms and then have an outside coordinator like to book the ser4vice you really need according to YOUR taste- this is very duable in non all inclusive hotels.....have you checked Le Reve....nice little hotel very flexible.

I'm getting married in Cancun at the Crown Paradise, as a recommendation from a travel agent, and it has been GREAT! They have really reasonable prices for my guests right now, $1080 a person for air and all inclusive hotel for 7 days 6 nights.

They also don't have huge fees for using outside vendors like many of the other resorts. I only have to pay $150 for my photographer and my make-up and hair person can come for free. We also have an option for a private 3 hour dinner for $30 a person which also includes a DJ. The wedding coordinator, Evelyn, is also very easy to work with via e-mail.

Hope all works out!

  • 2 weeks later...

We are doing something very similar because we would like as many of our friends to be able to afford to come to the wedding. Actually the Gran Porto real is one of our top contenders for our everyone to stay at. We have decided to get married on a private residential beach and have our reception at the Kool Club. I am also working with a wedding coordinator so that i don't have to worry about everything myself.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
