Airica26- What do you mean they have a resort credit promotion of $1500. I am very confused.

Great to see that there are lots of girls from Wpg. Hopefully the weather will be like a normal winter next year so that it really feels like a winter get away. Not complaining though! +22 tomorrow! that's insane!

I was quite shocked at the cost. I guess I thought it would be around $1500 to $1800 max but for a good resort it seems to be closer to $1800 plus. My TA told me flight prices are going up May 2012 so this could be the issue. There are resorts you can go to that will be closer to $1500 but they will be far inferior and I figured might as well get people to pay $200-300 more for a much better resort.

I am getting married at Moon Palace (Cancun) in 2013 and it seems to be running between $1800 and $1900 but it is an easy sell to guests because they have a $1500 resort credit promotion. Maybe finding something like that will make you feel at ease about the high cost.

Every room gets a $1500 credit to use for various things. Golfing, spa treatments, tours, room upgrades, etc. You can even use your $1500 towards select wedding packages. I opted for the complimentary wedding so I can't use it (even for anything I add on to the complimentary wedding) but I can still use it to go to the spa and my fiancee can golf for free.

This may be a bonus to people, especially the room upgrade people can use it toward. My guests will be paying about $1800 and having this $1500 really cushioned the blow some people felt about the price.

Here check it out.

Hello Canadian Newbies and welcome to the forums!  tkuzma if you haven't already created a wedding website this is a great place to start and a great tool to keep your guests updated on your progress.  There are a lot of threads on them to help you get ideas.  I leave April 15th for a site inspection trip on the weddings at Karisma Resorts, keep an eye on the wiki for an article I will be posting.  You might find it helpful for your wedding at El Dorado Maroma.

Congrats and happy planning!!!

Hey everyone, I guess I am a posting newbie but I must admit I have been lurking on here for a while. This is such a great community with excellent tips and advice.

I am hoping to get married in the Mayan Riviera this November. We originally had our date booked at the Azul Sensatori which I LOVE but once we got package prices it turned out a lot of guests could not afford it so we now have to change our venue. I am terrified to pick another place! We have been looking at the Ocean Coral & Turqusa. I read all 119 pages on that forum! Great advice an tips. I am still unsure though. Waiting to hear back from my TA on some other recommendations within our price range. I just want it booked! It is nerve racking at this point to not be booked yet. It is getting close!

Hey ladies, I just wanted to let you know that Canada Post has new commemorative stamps out for spring featuring daylilies! I was so excited to find these because the flowers look tropical and are pretty fuchsia and orange colours, which are my wedding colors. I'm going to stock up because my STDs are going out soon. These can be purchased online or at the post office

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
