Katie (my friend who is getting married there) has only had positive things to say about the Dreams.  It's a bit pricey for us as guests, but you know the Dreams will do it right.  She is not having a sit down dinner, rather a cocktail party which is great because the guests can mingle and chat and at the same time they're able to save some money (they have 70 people booked so it will be big for a DW.  Also she is super crafty so I know she's doing a lot of DIY as well.  Apparently the resort has been really flexible about swapping things out for other things which is always a plus for brides considering where to go.  I have never stayed at a Dreams before but I have stayed at other AM resorts - NOW Jade in Mexico and my cousin has stayed at the NOW resort in DR and loved it.  I think you're definitely safe to go with one of them.  :)

Oooohh never been to Mexico...Will one day but not right at this time since lots has happened in the last few years that have made me nervous but I know it is beautiful -- everyone who goes says so! I think that's a great idea about the cocktail only! I always said if I were to do a wedding here, I'd only do cocktail cause I am not a fan of a too formal affair (for my day). We'll do a dinner but I really expect only a few people, maybe 20? I know they have lots to chose from and rent but they let you bring your stuff....it's expensive to rent their stuff so I'm planning on doing a bit of DIY....I'd love to see what she does!!! My fiance has been at the Now in DR 6-7 years ago and liked it too!!! (he went with his ex when it wasn't owned by Now thus why we aren't getting married there lol). Now I'm excited for your trip down there I bet it'll be so much fun!

WELCOME!!!!! And congrats! Have you decided where? As in Mexico? Jamaica? DR?

It is going very well! Seems everything is in place just leaving it up to the wedding planner at this point. Still trying to figure out how I am going to fit everything for our OOT bags into our luggage and we don't even have a lot. lol

soonCB.....our dates are so close!  Where did you decide to have your off-site ceremony?  We're doing ours at the Aqueducts.

I feel ya on the OOT bag stuff!  We have two suitcases just for the bags!  When are you going to hand yours out?

Yes I agree on them being assembled as well! Less work for when you get there. And yes you can give them out right away :) That is my plan also!

Just need to get everything together so I can start making mine up!

Good Luck!!!!

Congrats Dazydawl + welcome to the forum ! how about if you left one bag open - to show the customs people what's inside - in case they want to see what's in them........just a thought, although there are no guarantees when it comes to clearing customs......mostly the luck-o-the-draw concerning which official you happen to get in your turn.

Wishing you all the best with your plans and creating the perfect destination wedding celebration get-away you envision! Cheers :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
