Dreams Wedding in 2 months! HELP

Recommended Posts

HI Ladies- I'm getting married at Dreams on September 11, 2010 and feeling really nervous.

First- My planner is David Ruiz from Dreams and I haven't connected well with him and super nervous about the wedding. Does anyone else have experience with him? I've heard great things about other planners there and upset I didn't get one of them sad.gif

Second- My parents and the grooms parents have yet to meet in the 3 years that we have been together. We will all be in Cabo thursday night but his family is staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort and I'd like to have all of us go out for dinner. Any suggestions on restaurants near that Resort (not to pricey). They will of course be at Dreams for the wedding on Saturday but just coming for the day.

Third- Too expensive and takes up too much space for us to do OOT bags for favors. Any other thoughts? We were thinking of getting up early on Friday and going into town to buy gifts for everyone? We have 23 guests coming. 10 guys and 13 ladies. We are thinking of Picture frame or album for the girls but no idea about what to get the men? HELP

Or if you have any other ideas or comments on something other than things I need help with I am all ears. Love to hear everything. Thanks in advance-

Hi and congrats! I got married at Dreams last year and loved it. David wasn't there when we were married, and I had Yesica as my coordinator. We didn't leave the resort for dinner so I'm not help there. And as for OOT bags, we didn't do those either. Goodluck with everything :)

My wedding coordinator is Yarai so I can't help much with that issue. Though I would imagine there must be a manager you can speak to about your issues.

With respect to the restaurant, have you reviewed this thread:

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...rant-list-769/

It is a list of restaurants in Cabo and should help you choose one.

I am doing oot bags but am planning to give them out to all our family before we leave to reduce the amount of stuff I have to take with us.

Good luck with your wedding preparations. I'm sure everything will work out and you will have a beautiful wedding.

He has been with Dreams for years as a concierge and he was great at his job so they moved him to the wedding coordinator. Also the dreams wedding dept. works as a team so I am sure you are in good hands. if you have any questions, just email David but I am sure you will be happy with him. I met with him in June and he was totally up to speed with how to deal with brides, wedding situations, etc.

Alot depends on what your budget it.

HELPyou really don't have to do anything...alot of people do not get any gifts at all. if you REALLY want to do something, what about small bottle of tequilla and shot glasses.

Sorry I can't help you with anything else, but I think a bottle of tequila would be a good thing for the guys. Cigars are always nice too. And I'm sure you can find either pretty cheap once you get down there.

Good luck with everything! I'm sure it will all great. I know it's hard not to stress but try to relax and enjoy everything. What's big to you now won't be noticed by anyone there.

I am getting married at Dreams in April next year and David is my wedding co-ordinator, he was really quick at responding to my emails before we paid the deposit but since has been a little slow I am still waiting for my room contract that he told me he would email to me a month ago! I have spoken to him on the phone and he seems really nice i think they are all just very busy. If i was you i would send him an email with your concerns and i am sure everything will work out fine!

I second the Tequila for the guys, i have decided not to do OOT bags as i live in Australia and already have enough stuff to bring over.

There is a costco along the tourist corridor which is great I went in December with my mum to check it out!

Thank you so much to everyone for all the advice. I know i need to just chill and my wedding will be great. It will only happen once so I want it to be perfect. Thanks for putting me at ease. The ideas for gifts are great also. :) I love this forum.

I have photographed weddings at Dreams working with David and he is a very cool guy (also great at his job!) so rest easy.

I am going to suggest a beach restaurant that often gets overlooked and I don't know why. The restaurant is Tobascos right on the beach on the bay in Cabo San Lucas. It is 'almost' half-way between the two groups of people and quite affordable and fun.

3.) Oot bags can easily be stuffed buying local. Ask your hotel concierge for directions to Todos de Bizarre or Bizarre de Todos (spelling suspect) in San Jose which is about a 5 minute taxi from your hotel. It is the kind of store that is crammed with everything from garters to tires.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
