these are so cute...im going to look into it! im just worried about how much its going to cost to get down there because I dont know if we'll be able to fit everything we plan on brining in our 2 suitcases and be under weight....its giong to be tuff...i dont want to sacrifice bringing clothes! lol

Check if your airline offers a higher weight allowance for the bride and groom. I think we get an extra 10kg. Also we are thinking of sending some of our oot bag stuff with my brother. He's only taking one suitcase for himself so that leaves me a whole suitcase to fill with wedding stuff ;)

Im pretty sure I usually take 2 suitcases and a carry on when i travel, but each airline is different so just check their website and it should tell you baggage allowances. And on my invoice it just says 10kg extra weight allowance for bride and groom. Not sure if it's each bag or not. Good question - I'll have to ask my TA and I'll let you know what she says. It also says 50% off weight overages for the group so I guess that means they only pay half of the fee if their luggage is overweight.

I had no idea!  I'm going to look into it, I've never heard of a bride and groom getting weight allowances!!!!  This would be incredible.  Does your lfight leave on a Friday morning to?  We get into Jamaica by early afternoon and we can start drinking, hahahha!

The weight allowance really depends on the airline. Be sure to check your ticket etc as well (even after you check with the agent/airline). Sometimes when a plane does a double pick up (ie. when we went to Cuba from Toronto we were allowed 2x20kg bag + 5kg carry on, but people traveling on the same plane from Montreal only had 1x20kg bag + carry on). You can always pre-arrange extra luggage, this way it will definately cost you less. Make sure you do it for return as well - never know about the gifts, souvenirs etc).

Yes our flight leaves in the morning and it's direct. I'm pretty excited we will actually get to enjoy some of the day at the resort.

Hey all! Wanted to post about a couple other cute items that should be fairly inexpensive to do for a thank you bag. My fiance and I are talking about making our own "favorite jamaican recipies" book to add in the bags! The cover could be really cute and personalized and we even though about renaming the receipies to make it more personalized! You could print the recipies/pics out off the comp, and get some type of smaller bound booklet (maybe one of those tiny scrap books) to add them into! Also, thought about making a personalized CD with our favorite jamaican hits!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
