Akua420 have you been able to find a spice mix or will you just make your own? I was going to check Costco for a bulk container but if not, I did find some recipes online that don't look too difficult. Our AHR isn't until May though so I probably won't do it for awhile

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE INT HIS THREAD

I am not planning to do an loot bag thingy, we are just doing wedding favours that will be on everyones plate at the dinner.  Reason being we are all traveling at the same time, and i wont have time to run around and drop it in everyones room, heck wont even know my room number when I get there.  However i think they are a good idea, just seems like a little much stress for me. On a second note, i am so thankful that i ahve 40 people coming to our wedding, and it means the world to me that they are...And i would love to do something a little extra special to show them i care.

We are not doing any special events, i feel that my guests have paid to have a vacation as well, and should have the luxury of doing what they want to do, and not feel like they have to spend time with us.

My biggest problem is, how do you travel with lets say 40big bubba cups?? across the boarders...is that not considered importing?? Im a littel confused about that.

For Jamaican items, i have asked my WC if they were able to arrange getting small bottles of rum for our wedding favours, and they said it could be arranged....price wise imsure they will inflate the prices because i want them to get it, but wahtever, it will be much easier than having to ship it, or cargo it over with me.

PS i really like the under water camera, might do that with a little note and brochure about excusions available and hand it out ont he busride :) MAYBW thanks for the ideas ladies

I haven't decided yet.  My sister lives in the Bronx in a Jamaican neighborhood and she said you can get big things of jerk seasoning cheap, so I'm going to look into that but it does seem like something you could make yourself.  And then we could pick up key ingredients when down there, beacuse my AHR isn't until July.  I'm going to have to look up recipes, haven't even started that yet!  I wonder if there is a company that can just send you the bulk spice, then I can print off cute labels and put them in jars.

OchoRiosBride 2010 - What I"m planning on doing is bringing them down in a suit case, and then the first night we're going to meet up for supper and I'll just hadn them out then.  I won't have them waiting in the rooms beacuse some people will be getting there the day before.

hmh that might be a good idea, too...my FI wanted to just hand them all out there, but i just cant seem to justify travelling with that extra luggage if i can just hand most of them out here haha.

I dunno how you feel about Ebay, but you can by bulk bags, by the pound of Jamaican jerk spice, i read alot of the reviews and they were all excellent, It was reasonably priced...so if you are still looking for the spice mix check it out. Just search Jamaican spice, or just Jamaican and it will come up!!! good luck

Our goal is so plan the bags really small, so we can fill one suitcase with it, then me and my FI fill a suitcase, then coming back my suitcases can be packed in eachother, so I'll just poack it all up that way, or if ?I go mad shopping fill it with that.  How many people do you have coming to your wedding?

That is SO cute!!!  Where did you get the coffee?  Is it just a sticker to personalize it, or did you get coffee with personalize labels?  Love it.  And where did you get the match book?  I want to put little candles and a matchbook in my OOT bags, and the personalized ones are super cute.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
