Catalonia Playa Maroma Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So glad I found others who have been married or planning on getting married at the CPM. We are planning our wedding for April 2012 and I just discovered this amazing resort but Im feeling worried, as others have expressed, about the lack of information. I am going through airtransat and this resort does carry their wedding package so I was thinking of going with that but was wondering what the resort offers.  Do they have other flowers than just roses and lillies??? I agree RMBride2B the arch is cheesy and im also wondering, the same as you, about the receptition options. Any info would be awesome!!! I will post anything that I find :) Ali

Hi Ali, I am getting married at Catalonia Playa Maroma this May 2011. I have heard from several girls that got married here and they said very positive things about their experiences. I've heard the staff is really great, the food is good, and I know the beach is beautiful. As far as the chessy arch(i agree) I'm hoping they can offer something else. The wedding co-ordinator there(karina) sent me pic's of flower options -

and yes, mainly lilies and roses, but also some really beautiful looking orchids. I'm going to get married on the beach, then have a semi private reception for about 30 people - have not yet decided to do in the mexican, italian, international restaurant yet. They said you can have your own music(ipod) and hook it up to sound system there, or hire the mariachis for entertainment also(i think around 500 us dollars) My friend who is a photographer will be taking pictures - so no info on that. Let me know if you have any questions, and I'm sure I'll have much more info I will post after my wedding in may! Let you know how it goes - wish me luck! Thanks:) Nicole

Thanks Nicole,

We actually chose a different resort now, we are going to the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort. I really liked this resort but the one we chose has a few more things that we wanted in a resort. I have heard all great things about Catalonia Playa Maroma though and would love to go there one day :) And i would love to see your pictures from your wedding when you are back. Happy planning!!!

Hello All,

I had a wedding at Catalonia Playa Maroma on 3-5-11. I just have to say it was an "AMAZING" experiance!!

I arrived to the hotel 3 days prior to the wedding. I was a little worried and hesitant about certain little details about the wedding that hadn't really been discussed or talked about in detail with the wedding coordinator (Karina). The wedding planning was a little hard because most of the planning was done via email, and even then it some times took them a few days to respond to my email, and some times the responses were not in detail. But Karina always finished her emails with saying "don't worry, this is your day, we will do everything we can to make your day magical". It was hard to believe that because as a bride you're going through all these emotions and stress and you're always thinking that everything will go wrong.

My fiance, my sister, and I met with Karina the day after we arrived to talk about all the wedding details. They greeted us with champagne and delicious appetizers. I'd like to start off by saying that Karina is a sweetheart!! As soon as I meet her I had a sigh of relief. Her voice and personality brought me relief and comfort.. We sat down and to my surprise Karina had a folder file that read "Karina & Saul Lopez" this folder contained every email I sent to her. Karina was very organized and professional. She went over EVERY single detail about the wedding with me, I walked out that office feeling so confident that my wedding was going to be better than what I imagined. I was able to enjoy my vacation because Karina took care of every single detail for me.

I thought it was very important to post this message asap on here because they're isn't really much helpful wedding information about this hotel on this site. I know that my post will help calm the nerves of future Catalonia Playa Maroma Brides.

I can go on and on with wonderful things to say about Karina, the staff, and this hotel. I truly am happy I decided to get married here!

I also have to say that" ilgruppodigitale" photography is amazing! The pictures posted on this site or their own site do no justice to their work! I will post some pictures so you guys will get a better idea of their great work.

I am willing to answer any questions you might have about this hotel and my experience:)

My congratilations!

We booked our wedding at Catalonia Playa Maroma on 05-17-11.

I worried about lack of information about the Catalonia wedding, so  I really happy to hear such admirable rewie! It calmed me down. thank you so much!

To be honest I am nervous about the place of the ceremony. How crowdy was the beach while the ceremony?  I don't want to see a lot of people in swimsuits. Please tell about your impressions about it.

Unfortunately I can't see your atached photos, please send it to my e-mail (I have sent my e-mail to you by private massage)

Hello Yuliya & Missframboesa,

I received your message, I will email you some pictures as soon as I can, hopefully sometime this week.

Yuliya, my ceremony was at 4pm at the beach and I have to say I did have an audience of like 30-40 people. Most of them were guest from the hotel who were sun bathing but I was okay with it because the life guard made sure that they kept their distance from the ceremony. They cheered and clapped as I walked down the aisle.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
