When I started planning my TA looked up prices for this year around my wedding date, and said more then likely the prices will be close to that next year...  Keeping my fingers crossed that is actually the case!!!   It is making me a little nervous when I hear all the day to day changing in prices you are all discussing...    wacko.gif

Hello!

The difference between the prices should not be more than 15usd, most of the properties in Mexico work with American Dollars, for example, in our property, the lowest rate this year was $209, next year, and the same suite will be $219us.

And most important, if you confirm your wedding at any property this year, you will sign a contract give a deposit, and the rates stated on it will be valid for next year!

Let me know if this information was helpfully for you.

Regards,

Tatiana Valdez

Can someone share their experiences on booking prices to Cuba? I've been telling my friends that I'm hoping to keep it under 1200 and I thought I was being generous there but now looking at the prices everyone is posting maybe I was wrong? Is it much different in price between Cuba and Mexico?

I've been looking at prices through tripcentral for the resorts I'm considering and the prices were never more than 1100 tax in out of Toronto for the latest month they were showing prices for (dec last I checked). We're planning on a Jan 2012 wedding..

The reason i decided to cut Palace resorts from my list was because someone told me they try to sell timeshares to people staying there. I didn't want my guests to be subjected to a salespitch! Can anyone else confirm whether they do that or not?

They do sell time shares, and make a commission if you attend the sales pitch, but they don't push it on anyone. They ask when you are checking in, that's about all. We're getting married at Moon Palace in a couple months and aren't at all worried about it, but then again we are already members!

I find with Cuba that it depends on what part of Cuba you go to...Varadero and Cayo Coco are usually a little more expensive.  In my experience there is more variety in Mexico, so you have more options and therefore more lower priced options.  Plus it is good to remember that a 4 star in Cuba is not a 4 star in Mexico (probably closer to a 3-3.5 star).  This is not a problem, our resort in Cuba was awesome even though it wasn't fancy, but if you have a certain expectation for your wedding, keep the whole Cuba star ratings thing in mind. I think we paid around $900 + tax (so probably $1200ish) for a "4 star" in Varadero.  That's just my personal experience with Cuba booking though!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
