Heya,

 

I'm kate & my Fiancé is Danny.

We got engaged last September, & have since decided to have the big day abroad!

We would like to get married on our anniversary (28th March) or around there,

But as we'd like family & so on to be able to come,

& they need time to save,

We are thinking 28th March 2012.

 

As for where - we have no idea at present!

Preferably somewhere not in Europe - so perhaps Sri Lanka, Cuba, Mexico etc.

We are looking for reccomendations if possible please!

 

We would like the ceremony to be on the beach,

To be able to have a wedding breakfast,

& for the hotel to be quite modern.

Also needs to allow children - as we have two under five & my sister will only be fourteen.

 

One hotel I'd quite liked the look of in Sri Lanka was the Eden Spar & Resort.

If anyone has any information on this?

 

Any help will be really good please! & very much appreciated!

Would rather hear from people going through it,

Than the travel agent whose just trying to make commission!

Hi Kate!! Congrats and welcome to the forum!! There is tons of info here that will help you with your decison making process. Check out the travel sections, and also read some of the reviews for the different resorts...there are also wonderful travel agents on this forum that have a wealth of experience as well. Happy planning :) :)

Welcome to the forum! This site has a lot of info about resorts in Cuba and Mexico, not sure about Sri Lanka. Take some time to search for info and read member's reviews to help you narrow down your location. Once you've chosen your location most of the other details should fall into place. Good luck and enjoy your planning!!

Welcome, Kate!

 

I've been to Taj Exotica and Eden Resort in Sri Lanka, doing wedding shootings.

I liked Eden much more than Taj: services, surrounings, rooms. Maybe brides have another opinion, but personally I would recommend Eden Resort.

I would also advise you to view resorts in Seychelles and Maldives, there are so many good ones!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
