Too late?

I think you can definitely do it. There are lots of brides on here who have planned their DW in about 6 months. I think a lot of it just depends on how fixated you are on a particular date, resort, dress, etc. If you are open to considering different options, I think you'll have many more options available to you.

I don't think you are too late, either. It can certainly be done! I think my biggest worry would be if the certain people you wanted to have there, could do it in the time frame you are giving them. But planning wise, you are not too late at all. I would recommend figuring out the resort and get that taken care of though, that way you don't lose the date or location you are looking for! Good luck, you will have a lot of fun with it!

I think 7-months is enough time. It really could depend on how many friends/family you would like to attend..the more time others may be able to save and attend. Or as my FI says if they want to be there they will do there best so plan...and enjoy the planning.

I've have 9-months of planning. After the invitations I didn't do any planning for about four months. So contact a TA book your location, focus on your dress and everything else will fall in place.

Totally enough time!

I got engaged in August and got married in April. I didn't have to make any compromises because of my short engagement. I got exactly what I wanted. You should be fine, especially with a winter wedding. April/May book out quickest (from what I gather).

I feel MUCH better now, thanks everyone :).

We're pretty set on our date so I was worried we'd have a hard time finding something that fit, but I feel a lot better after hearing some of you say that you planned in about the same (or less) time. Luckily we've already told everyone when the wedding will be, so everyone who will be coming knows to book time off work. I'm breathing easier now :)

How long does it usually take to have a dress made? Someone suggested Light In The Box (**mods, if I'm not supposed to mention names, I'm sorry!)... anyone ordered from there before?

same here - from engagement to wedding was about 8 mos, plenty of time! you might have to be a little fleixble on the day of the week and other things if you're picking a busy season, but who cares ... you can definitely make it work!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
