Carnvial Destiny- Key West Hyatt Bride

Hello! I am getting Married on March 18th, 2011 at the Key West Hyatt while in port. The ship is only in port from 7:30am-2:00pm. Our ceremony is at the Hyatt at 10:00 and our reception is 10:30-12:30. Has anyone else done this

My fiance, parents & I live in South Florida and are leaving this Thursday to go down to Key West and check out everything. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!! :- )

I will definitely let you know. Right now, I am going back and forth with a coordinator, but haven't booked anything yet. But yea, I will post as much info as I can.

The Hyatt is beautiful, but we decided to book our own wedding in KW and have the reception back on board. It worked out much cheaper for us-we have more than 50 and the contract Carnival has with the Hyatt required us to have a reception at the Hyatt at a much greater cost. I was deciding between the Hyatt and Ocean Key Resort. We're getting married while sailing on Carnival Destiny in November. We decied on Ocean Key because it's a little closer for guests to walk to the ceremony. Plus we decided not to book anything through the cruise to cut the cost. Are you doing the reception outside? The Hyatt is great because the wedding planners are provided, I don't have that at Ocean Key! I have some info on transportation and other things if you have any questions.

I actually live in south florida and my fiance and parents went down to the Hyatt this past Friday.

IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. I feel in absolute love with it. I took pictures if anyone would want any I can forward them to you in an email.

Also, I took pics of the beach, reception room, balcony of reception room and outside photos.

It really is beautiful. We signed a catering contract and are all set!!! I am also having a steel drum player perform the ceremony music. The Hyatt recommended a guy that plays there often.

My only issue is photography. I want to see a portfolio or something to get an idea of the work of the photographer. I called A Wedding for You and they refused to give me the name of the photographer or company, but she let slip that "Lona" does an excellent job. After some searching, I found that there's a Lona at Blueye Images.... Do you know if that's who works with them?

We are getting Married on the SAME DAY and SAME BOAT!!! :-)

I am getting married on March 18th 2011, while at the port in Key West!  My ceremony is from 12:30 to 1p and reception from 1p to 5p. 

How far along are you with your planning??
