Calling all March 2011 Brides...

I'm getting married at the Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort in Riviera Maya. I just wanted to bond with the other brides who are sharing the same timeline and sea/landscapes as me.

Let's all share our experiences and questions here :))

I've just started planning everything but so far its been going surprisingly smoothly

Yey! So glad you started this, I was beginning to think I was the only March 2011 bride!

We're getting married at the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach (it features a lazy river ride AND an ice cream parlour -- YES!). March 3 is our date :)

Planning has been pretty slow up until now -- it seems like it's soooo far away, but I guess we're only eight months away now! I have my dress and his ring... invitations will be sent out this month. Shoes are the next big thing on my list. They're tougher than I anticipated!

We ar getting married March 14th during Ontario's Marchbreak. Crazy know but we have 4 school teachers coming and one of them is my MOH so we had no choice. Happy to plan with other March brides.

Invitations should be going out this week, going dress shopping in 3 weeks when my BM's come to visit. Can't wait.

Hi! We are getting married on March 27, 2011 in St. Thomas. I'm a teacher and it's my spring break, so we didn't really have too many choices in terms of dates. We're taking a cruise to get there because I think it will be easier on some of our older guests (80+). I'm so excited to hear how everyone's planning is going :)

Hello March 2011 brides! I was also starting to wonder if there were any other March brides out there. We are getting married March 16 at Barcelo Maya Palace! (we are staying at the Barcelo Colonial though because of the lower price) We are at the beginning stages of our planning as well. I have an idea where I want our ceremony and reception to be held and have received the menu from the WC so still deciding on that. I do have my dress already but still need to order a dress for my daughter. (my daughter will be junior bridesmaid and my son will be junior groomsman)

My FI proposed to me at Tulum this February, it is so beautiful there and we love the Mayan Riviera. We decided we would love to have our wedding in the Mayan and chose the Barcelo.

March feels so far away right now, but I'm sure it will come up fast!!

This is so exciting =))))

We are also in the early planning stages.. But I have some stuff planned out..

Invitations are going to be "message in a bottle" style, I'll try to post pictures later once I finish putting together a sample one.

Our colour scheme, I'm thinking of kipping it simple white & aqua

I'm only going to have a MOH and i'm thinking she'll be wearing one of these or something similar

Victoria's Secret - Printed drop-waist strapless dress ( the navy and blue dress)

Victoria's Secret - One-shoulder Bra Top dress ( bright cobal)

I want to keep it very simple, but nice and fun

I found a dress, I love it, but I'm still keeping my eyes open for something else

http://bit.ly/bLqL9m ( the dress) :)))

(sorry for posting URLs, I don't know yet how to post pictures within the post)

I already have shoes that would go amazingly with this dress.. but I'm debating what to do with my hair now...

Right now I'm trying to find a photographer, seems to be hard, as our budget is a little tights, and photographers seem to be rather expensive...

Other than that, nothing else is planned, but hopefully will be in the near future

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
