Hi Ladies!

I picked up three different size calligraphy pens this weekend. a 2.0, 3.5 and 5.0. So, I've been working with all 3 and definitely go with the smaller point if you plan on doing any of this yourself. The 2.0 pen is working great and allows for a lot more individuality in the writing. The larger tips make it more difficult (at least for me, at this early stage in the game).

I'm going to keep practicing, but already like the way the 2.0 tip works with just my regular handwriting. Jazzes it up and makes it look more formal for the invitations.

This thread brings up a good point. Are we supposed to hand address wedding invitations? I hope not b/c my handwriting is awful and I don't want to have to ask anyone else to address them! :-O But if I have to do my own, thanks for the tip on the smaller pen!

We talked about this on some other threads a while back ... let me see if I can find them and I'll link to them for you. Some people are printing them, others are hand writing them. I think it's totally up to you, though.

  • 6 months later...

2 of my friends offered to calligraphy mine. I bought a 2.0 marker so I could give it a shot too. I'm home sick today & I'm having so much fun with this. I am just looking at the examples on this website & copying them. First Impressions Calligraphy - Hand Calligraphy

I have terrible handwritting, but my calligraphy is looking pretty. It's fun too. I suggest getting a calligraphy pen even if you don't do the calligraphy. It will make your regualr handwritting better like tami mentioned.

My pen was only $2.50. its actually a marker. There is a 2.0 pen on one side & a 5.0 on the other. The smaller one is definitly easier.

I feel kind of bad because one of my friends was going to come over this weekend & do her half of them. I don't think there will be any left by then. I'm having such a good time doing this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
