Who to invite? HELP!?

Recommended Posts

I think you should invite everyone, so that no feelings are hurt. I basically talked to everyone on my guest list, and if they had a interest in going I sent them a save the date. But you'll make a good decision.

I'm having a dilema with invites too. I want to invite my cousins and aunts and uncles and such, but I'm worried they actually WILL come! We don't have it in our budget to pay for food for everyone if they did decide to come! But at the same time, I don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt because I didn't send them an invite.

I'm in the same boat. I don't deal with either side of my family like that. And neither does FI. And to add icing to the cake, the majority would not be able to travel to the wedding for financial reasons anyway.

I thought about sending invites to everyone but it'd be a waste of $$ in my opinion. I've decided to just invite a select few people. The grandparents, and immediate relatives that we actually do deal with.

If you are concerned about feelings being hurt (in my case I'm not really concerned), then maybe you should at least send the invites. Just be to be safe.

This is a good idea. At least you can weed out the persons who are not interested.

I'm rather unsure about what I'm doing as well. (Got to do more research on this amazing sight before I decide!) But I think I'll just invite close family and friends to the destination wedding. Then we'll have a casual bbq/reception back home by the river after the wedding that we plan on inviting EVERYONE to. Something like:

Stephanie & Jerry will be married

March 13, 2011

In Riviera Maya, MX

Please join us in celebrating our union

Guadalupe River State Park

March 19, 2011

Obviously I'll fancy the wording up, but that 's what I'm thinking. Does it seem rude to invite them to a party, but not to the wedding? We want to celebrate with everyone, but the cost of wedding invites and paying for them at the fancy reception at the resort is something we can't really afford.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
