Total Meltdown...

Recommended Posts

Ok, I think I just had my first (and hopefully last) wedding meltdown...

I'm totally freaking about colors... yes, I realize this is probably ridiculous, but we had chosen a peach and aqua with silver accents. We're using flowers from the resort, and I'm worried they won't have anything for my bouquet in peach tones. I keep trying to get a straight answer on the colors and types of flowers that grow there, and I'm getting don't worry be happy answers from my wedding coordinator.

Also, I started working with the ribbon I had bought to do raffia fans, and they just look blah. I'm thinking I need to go with a more deep coral color with a darker turquoise (instead of aqua), but couldn't find anything that worked in my local crafts store. Sam was with me, and since he thinks peach is actually pink, he just wasn't helping.

Thoughts?

Are you absolutely in love with the peach? Could you do coral with the aqua? Of fuschia? I think that would look lovely. And if you really want a sharp contrast you could always do aqua and red. A lot of the girls on this forum have done aqua and red and it looks great. Also a lot of times I know girls have asked the resorts/WC's to get them light pink flowers and they have always gotten them bright pink so it's possible that some countries don't have a lot of light pink colored flowers.

I TOTALLY know how you feel! I was probably on my 15th color combo for my wedding when my save the date person forced me to commit this week! I decided on green and pink, but promised myself that I would be flexible on the shades, depending on what it was going on (ie, flowers, programs, ribbons, etc)

I can't imagine its easy to find the identical shade of peach you need for everything. Maybe you could incorporate different shades of peach, which would give you some flexibility. I might be colorblind, but is coral an option? I think you are going to drive yourself crazy if you try to make everything match perfectly!

I'm not trying to make everything match exactly, in fact we have abut 3 different shades of blue that we're working with, but the peach just isn't working. Finding stuff even in the right shades has been hard. I think I'm just also upset that I bought a bunch of stuff, and had already printed the labels for my message in a bottle invites. They are in peach, and if I change, I'll have to do them over. On the flip side, I haven't put them on the bottles yet. I'm just happy I realized this now, because I was planning on ordering my beach towels last week, and the logo we're using is going to have to change color...

I think you could find some great Coral and Turquoise combinations, "teal" is the in color right now. We just re-did our decor in our house and that was all we could find. As for the flowers, just to be sure bring the ribbon you want and have that tied around your bouquet, so that way no matter what colors the flowers are you will find something. But I am sure they will have some lilies that are orange that you could use.

it seems that picking wedding colors is almost as hard as picking a location!! we can't even pick a few options. i say go with aqua and fushia.

i fell in love with a purple and orange bouquet, but really don't want purple and orange to be our wedding colors!

sorry this is pointless. WEDDING COLORS ARE HARD!!

I think we're going to do a coral... We're going to hit Fabric Row (an entire street of fabric/ribbons/etc stores) later this week and find some new stuff. Of course it means we need to redo labels for our invites and some other stuff, but so be it.

I love my FI! He called the resort today to speak to the owner and get a real sense for the flowers. We had planned to use flowers from the property, which are included in our package, and my mom's boyfriend is a florist so he was going to do my bouquet. The guy said they definitely have corals, but that not all the flowers are in bloom in January. He said that if we can't find something we can work with, they have a florist who is awesome and can get any flowers we want!

Stress level returning to normal...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
